  3. Korea move for Lingard?published at 08:11 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February

Jesse Lingard looks like he could be on the move.

The former Manchester United and England midfielder has been linked with South Korean club FC Seoul.

The 31-year-old posted a picture on Instagram at the airport with his luggage featuring his JLingz fashion label as he prepared to check in for a Korean Air flight.

He has been without a club since leaving Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.

K-League side FC Seoul have offered Lingard a two-year deal and a substantial salary.

Earlier this season, Lingard trained with West Ham and also spent time training at Saudi side Al-Ettifaq.

Of course, given the season Manchester United have had, even a relatively good home performance could not come without some form of disappointment.

And Lisandro Martinez's worrying knee injury may rob Erik ten Hag of a key central defensive figure over the coming weeks.

The Argentina international, 26, was playing in only his third league game after more than three months out with a foot injury.

Now if you have been watching Manchester United recently, you surely cannot have failed to have been impressed by Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

At the ages of 21, 19 and 18, United have some serious young talent in their ranks.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says "you can see potential" in his team after they brushed aside West Ham to move back into the Premier League top six.

Rasmus Hojlund made it four Premier League goals in as many games and Alejandro Garnacho scored twice as the Red Devils recorded a comfortable victory.

For Ten Hag, there was some satisfaction in their biggest home league win of the season on the day he was finally able to select from an almost full-strength squad.

Win over Chelsea was 'enjoyable' - Gary O'Neil

As bad as Chelsea were, Wolves were pretty good weren't they?

Gary O'Neil appears to be doing a fine job at Molineux and saw his side brush off the disappointment of losing out to a 97th-minute winner in their seven-goal midweek thriller against Manchester United to reach the top half of the table for the first time this term.

Wolves had also not completed a league double over Chelsea since 1974-75, nor managed to win at Stamford Bridge in any competition since 1979, until yesterday.

Four days after being outclassed in a 4-1 midweek defeat at leaders Liverpool, Chelsea were outfought as their 10-match unbeaten home run in all competitions was brought to a painful end by Wolves.

While there is an acceptance that they are in the early phases of a long-term project under Pochettino, Sunday's meeting with a Wolves side who have now replaced them in the top half of the table was surely viewed as a must-win game.

And while they made a promising start courtesy of Cole Palmer's 10th goal in 20 league appearances during an outstanding first season at the club they ultimately fell well short against Gary o'Neil's determined side.

Chelsea now have the same points tally as they did at this stage last season under Graham Potter, who was sacked six games later.

While Pochettino does not currently appear to find himself under the same pressure, the Chelsea fans made it clear at full-time that this performance was not acceptable.

I'm not sure Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard playing the photographer at full time went down too well in all quarters.

There was a bit of a social media furore afterwards involving ex Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, Arsenal fan Piers Morgan and former Norway forward Jan Aage Fjortoft., external

Carragher, who did not seem too impressed while working as a pundit for Sky Sports, later posted a video of the incident on X, formerly Twitter,, external and wrote: "By all means enjoy it, but enjoy it by being disciplined!"

  12. Errors show Liverpool are 'human' - Klopppublished at 07:31 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February

    Arsenal 3-1 Liverpool

What were Alisson and Virgil van Dijk doing for Arsenal's second goal?

Liverpool also had Ibrahima Konate sent off after he picked up two yellow cards and the third Arsenal goal crikey.

Leandro Trossard put on the afterburners to leave Harvey Elliott for dust and his shot got a nick of Van Dijk before zipping through Alisson's legs.

Basically a defensive shambles from Jurgen Klopp's side.

  13. Gunners place themselves at heart of three-way title racepublished at 07:27 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February

    Arsenal 3-1 Liverpool

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Arsenal will have known deep down this meeting with Premier League leaders Liverpool had the potential to effectively end their Premier League title challenge - which may explain the wild celebrations that greeted victory.

It may have been too early to declare this a "must-win" match but it was certainly a "must not lose" as defeat would have left Arsenal eight points adrift of a Liverpool team who had lost only one league game on arrival at Emirates Stadium.

And, in the moments after the Gunners unpicked an outstanding first-half's work by gifting Liverpool a farcical equaliser seconds before the break, the audible groans around the stadium and the stunned expressions on the faces of their players suggested old fears were about to be realised again.

In the first half in particular, Arsenal were more intense than Liverpool, pressed harder than Liverpool, the characteristics that have made Jurgen Klopp's side so feared turned back on themselves.

And yet Arsenal somehow failed to hold the lead. It was the Liverpool fans who were singing during the interval.

Were Arsenal about to be undone by Liverpool again?

Instead, with the stakes so high, Arsenal showed character to overcome the doubts, regroup and - admittedly aided by some abysmal Liverpool defending wrapped up in an abysmal Liverpool performance - place themselves right at the heart of a three-way title pursuit.

Arsenal had only won one of their previous 11 matches against Liverpool in all competitions leading into Sunday and lost a two-goal lead at Anfield as their title bid faltered last term.

A massive win for Arsenal, a great result for Manchester City… and a disappointing display from Liverpool.

That might be how some people view the performance by Jurgen Klopp's side in Sunday's 3-1 defeat at Emirates Stadium because, after the Reds were so wonderful in their win over Chelsea on Wednesday, you kind of expected similar this time too.

But football does not work like that. They were up against a really good side in Arsenal, who have got a great home record and had a lot to fight for on the day, but were also very clever about how they went about it.

Arsenal's intensity was far greater than Liverpool's in the first half, when they were totally dominant. The Gunners were the first to more loose balls, and they hunted in packs.

They were magnificent off the ball, but their superiority was not just down to how hard they worked physically.

That side of it was brilliant, but their intelligence of who did what, and when, was also part of the plan - and it was extremely impressive.

Here is just what that Arsenal win has done to the top of the Premier League table.

No wonder there was so much joy at the Emirates and I suspect on the blue side of Manchester.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side can now go top if they win their two games in hand, starting at Brentford this evening and could have leapfrogged Liverpool by the time the Reds kick-off on Saturday.

Arsenal reduced Liverpool's lead at the top of the Premier League to two points after a deserved victory in a tense encounter at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners knew defeat was unthinkable and their cause was helped hugely by two errors from Liverpool's normally reliable keeper Alisson, who gifted Arsenal the goals that ensured three crucial points.

It sparked joyous scenes at the final whistle as Arsenal condemned Liverpool to only their second league defeat this season, their first since a highly controversial loss at Tottenham in late September.

It was a picture perfect day at Emirates Stadium for Arsenal on Sunday as Mikel Arteta's side ran out 3-1 winners against Premier League leaders Liverpool to put themselves right back in title race.

Meanwhile, Wolves stunned Chelsea as they came from a goal behind to lead 4-1 before Thiago Silva's late consolation for Mauricio Pochettino's side, who drop into the bottom half of the table.

Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho were on the scoresheet as Manchester United swept West Ham aside at Old Trafford to move up to sixth and Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest shared the spoils on the south coast.
