Summary

  1. goal

GOAL Loughgall 1-0 Carrick Rangerspublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 17 August

    Jordan Gibson - 27mins

Carrick will be disappointed with that one. The lanky Gibson surely should have been marked but he glances Jamie Rea's corner in at the near post.

About as simple as they come.

In moments, you see early season vibes here, the passing has been casual.

  3. Postpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 17 August

    Loughgall 0-0 Carrick Rangers

What a block from Curtis Allen! Unfortunately it's at the wrong end as he can't get out of the way of Seanan Clucas' rasping half-volley and deflects it away from danger.

  4. Best chance so farpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 17 August

    Linfield 0-0 Dungannon Swifts

Dungannon have the best chance of the opening 20 minutes as James Knowles gets on the end of an inviting Andrew Mitchell cross from the left, but is unable to keep his effort on target.

The Linfield defence were certainly beaten there and Knowles will be frustrated that he didn't at least hit the target with his strike.

Game opening up now after a far from thrilling opening quarter of an hour.

  5. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 17 August

    Portadown 0-1 Glentoran

Ahu Obhakhan with more smart footwork on the edge of the area to bustle through, but his shot is blocked by Fuad Sule, who makes a sliding challenge.

  6. Postpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 17 August

    Portadown 0-1 Glentoran

    Portadown look threatening in attack.

Some neat link up between new signings Josh Ukek and Ahu Obhakhan down the left leaves the latter through, but he can't pick out a teammate at the back post and the ball is cleared. Promising.

At the other end, Nedas Maciulaitis plays in Curtis Allen who rattles the upright.

This has been a very enjoyable opening quarter of an hour.

    Joe Gormley opens the scoring!

Ryan Curran's miscontrol inadvertently sets up Gormley, who pounces on the opportunity from outside the box.

The frontman's effort is a thing of beauty, leaving Gareth Deane grasping at thin air as it rockets past the outstretched keeper.

    Philip Major
    BBC Sport NI summariser

Glentoran have come out today really pumped up.

There were a couple of really tough tackles early on from the Glens and they have shown they want to get the three points today.

They have been very focused and they are certainly dominating the game and chances.

  12. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 17 August

    Glenavon 0-0 Cliftonville

Joe Gormley tees up Shea Gordon 25 yards out.

Gordon unleashes a right-footed strike, but it lacks venom, floating harmlessly towards Gareth Deane.

  13. Postpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 17 August

    Glenavon 0-0 Cliftonville

David McDaid pounces on Jonny Addis, dispossessing him and suddenly finding a clear path to goal.

The home crowd rises in anticipation, but they are left frustrated as referee Evan Boyce blows his whistle for a foul by McDaid.

It's a let-off for the Reds, who've yet to find their passing rhythm.

The hosts are working their way back into things and have had a couple of corners. They have been both been met by Tiernan Kelly first with a head then a volley but neither have troubled Ross Glendinning.

    Portadown 0-1 Glentoran

    Philip Major
    BBC Sport NI summariser

Glentoran have probably had the better of the game so far and it was a great finish by [Jordan] Jenkins and good awareness by [Dylan] Connolly.

It's good to see Jenkins getting a chance here, obviously coming off a great season in the Championship and that will really build his confidence.

GOAL Portadown 0-1 Glentoranpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 17 August

    Jordan Jenkins - 9mins

No sooner have we witnessed Portadown grow into the game, when Glentoran grab the opener in a counter-attack move.

After breaking from deep, Dylan Connolly slips a lovely ball through to Jordan Jenkins, who drives down the right before slotting the ball through the legs of Aaron McCarey in goal.

    Not the start Portadown wanted.

  18. 'Cliftonville trying to get the ball out wide'published at 15:08 British Summer Time 17 August

    Glenavon 0-0 Cliftonville

    Sean Ward
    BBC Sport NI pundit

From Cliftonville, it's very clear that they are trying to get the ball out wide quickly and the reason they are trying to do that is because Glenavon are defending very narrowly.

  19. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 17 August

    Loughgall 0-0 Carrick Rangers

Curtis Allen roars in frustration after Danny Gibson's deflected cross finds its way to him, but he slices wide from the edge of the box.

  20. Postpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 17 August

    Linfield 0-0 Dungannon Swifts

Some intricate football from the hosts leads to Linfield's first chance as Matthew Fitzpatrick turns and shoots, but his effort is a tame one and is easily gathered by Declan Dunne.

Apart from that, nothing of note happening at Windsor Park so far.
