Why are Chelsea constantly linked with so many wingers? It seems like they already have enough, especially with Paez and Estevao already coming in this summer. Are they being linked with any strikers - aside from Delap?

Nizaar Kinsella: I mentioned all the strikers that Chelsea could move for below, but I will talk about the winger strategy. Chelsea are excited about Estevao Willian and he will have a big role in time. I personally think Kendry Paez will go on loan - not confirmed by Chelsea but some sources think it is very likely.

Chelsea will probably sign another winger but it depends on whether they sign Sancho and if Mudryk can get clear of his legal issues to play.

Do they have too many? It is an embarrassment of riches certainly, but that’s what they want and I think they will sell Nkunku.

  4. Wolves - transfer overviewpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 13 May

    Wolves

Vitor Pereira has had a positive impact since his arrive at Wolves as manager in December, helping his side from second bottom to 14th in the Premier League table.

Matheus Cunha has been their star performer, scoring 15 league goals this campaign, with summer recruit Andre, who was signed for up to £21m from Fluminense, also performing strongly.

Players in: Wolves are among several Premier League clubs reportedly interested in Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, 22.

Another reported link is with former Arsenal forward Nicolas Pepe, who is out of contract at Villarreal this summer.

Players leaving: Cunha has been linked with a move to Manchester United. Nelson Semedo, Pablo Sarabia and Craig Dawson are all out of contract this summer.

Gary in Leeds: Who do you think we should be targeting to give ourselves a chance of staying in the Premier League next season? No disrespect to current incumbents, they have been an amazing team in the Championship this year, but I think we could do with upgrades through the spine of the team: goalkeeper, central defender, a number 9 and number 10 maybe. It would be great if we could hang on to some of the loanees like Manor Solomon too.

Adam Pope: Hi Gary. I agree with most of what you are saying here. I would like to see Solomon signed because I genuinely believe he has Premier League quality.

We were discussing on our podcast 'Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet' whether it would be worth having naturally left-footed Jack Harrison back from his loan at Everton for next season, as he is already on the books, or whether you sell him and finance a move for Solomon from Spurs?

I also think Joe Rothwell, especially with his set piece delivery, is possibly worth keeping on board as a a squad player because he has a wealth of experience and can produce decisive moments at critical times.

  7. Transfer Q&A: Do Leeds' owners have the right stategy?published at 15:52 British Summer Time 13 May

Anon: Hi, Can't tell you how happy I am that Leeds are back in the Premier league. Do you think the 49ers have the right strategy and know-how to keep us in the Premier league?

Adam: In some respects, it’s a new experience for the 49ers Enterprises as they are the majority owner going into the Premier League this time around, as opposed to playing second fiddle to former chairman Andrea Radrizzani in 2020 promoted with Marcelo Bielsa.

They appear to have a plan of action designed to achieve a long-term goal of establishing Leeds United, which includes sticking with and backing manager Daniel Farke to keep the club in the top flight, coupled with the redevelopment of the stadium to help improve revenue streams in the future.

The 49ers have already shown they have access to key investors, so their ability to coral capital together to improve the squad and the stadium is far greater than Radrizzani’s. They have deeper pockets. The key for me is how the recruitment set up works and that to some extent is an unknown entity as we await to see the fruits of the labours of Robbie Evans, newly appointed as managing director, Adam Underwood as sporting director, and Alex Davies, who is head of recruitment. The working dynamic they have with Farke is key.

  8. Tottenham - transfer overviewpublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 13 May

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have lost 20 Premier League games this season to sit 17th, but Ange Postecoglou's side have reached the Europa League final against Manchester United on 21 May.

Victory would secure Champions League football and may change their summer business.

Players in: Timo Werner, who is on loan from RB Leipzig, could join permanently if Spurs opt to activate his £8.5m option to buy.

Attacker Mathys Tel's option to buy is a bit more hefty at around £45m.

Players leaving: Ben Davies, Sergio Reguilon, Fraser Forster and Alfie Whiteman are all out of contract this summer.

  9. Southampton - transfer overviewpublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 13 May

    Southampton

Southampton were relegated to the Championship and have only picked up 12 points this Premier League campaign.

Players leaving: Lesley Ugochukwu, Kyle Walker-Peters Albert Gronbaek, Jack Stephens, Adam Lallana and Joe Lumley are all out of contract this summer.

Saints signed England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for £25m last summer, but may have to offload the 26-year-old.

  10. Transfer Q&A: How much will Leeds need to spend to stay up?published at 15:47 British Summer Time 13 May

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport chief football news reporter

Jack, Bedford: How much do you think Leeds will have to spend to get the quality we need to survive? Surely looking at 7+ players to strengthen - where do you think the key areas to improve are?

Simon Stone: Hiya, Jack. I wrote about this after Leeds beat Sheffield United 3-1 at Bramall Lane in February. If you work on the basis Georginio Rutter went to Brighton last summer for £40m, bringing in the seven players you are talking about, at the right standard, is virtually impossible.

Don't forget as well, Leeds' allowable losses under the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) are £44m less than established Premier League clubs due to the two years they have spent in the Championship. If that all sounds a bit bleak, there is some optimism.

Leeds are an attractive proposition. If they can get a couple of good loans and a couple of free transfers, it will reduce the number of 'signings' they have to make. A bit like Nottingham Forest, if they can find a way to cling on, Leeds can slowly climb the table because they have a supporter base to be a solid top-flight club. It is pointless thinking they are bigger than the likes of Brighton just now, though. Next season, their only task is to be better than three rivals.

  11. Transfer Q&A: Rodrygo to Chelsea?published at 15:45 British Summer Time 13 May

Andreas in London:Any chance/news on Rodrygo moving this summer? If so, I think he’d be the perfect left winger for Chelsea!

Nizaar Kinsella: Hi Andreas. I’ve heard quite a bit of news out of Spain that Rodrygo could leave - and it is logical looking at Real Madrid’s star-studded squad.

That has not been verified inside the club but he fits the bill for Chelsea, especially as he used to be a left winger earlier in his career.

That’s the profile Chelsea are after, but his wage and fee could be an issue.

  12. Transfer Q&A: Who's the latest superstar from Dortmund?published at 15:43 British Summer Time 13 May

Jamie Gittens of Borussia Dortmund celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Rob from Somerset: Which big name is coming from Borussia Dortmund this year? Seems like a year doesn't go by without some superstar emerging from there...

Alex Howell: You can never be doing too badly if you’re following in the footsteps of Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho.

Jamie Gittens is highly rated and, just like Sancho left Manchester City to join Dortmund.

He’s been linked with a move to the Premier League but for a player of his talent and age, it will take a lot to get him.

He’s likely to be part of an exciting England U21 side in the summer for their European Championships, so if he excels there, maybe that could bring some clubs' spending plans forward.

  13. Leicester City - transfer overviewpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 13 May

    Leicester City

Leicester will face some squad changes after they suffered relegation from the Premier League.

Players out: Foxes legend Jamie Vardy has already announced his departure.

Brighton's on loan 20-year-old attacker Facundo Buonanotte will likely return to his parent club after impressing.

Goalkeepers Daniel Iversen and Danny Ward are both out of contract this summer.

  14. West Ham - transfer overviewpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 13 May

    West Ham United

West Ham spent £40m on Maximilian Kilman from Wolves in the summer and may need to splash big this summer after struggling in the Premier League.

Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter joined the club in January, guiding the side to 15th, after the club sacked Julen Lopetegui.

Players in: Reports suggest England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, 26, is wanted by the Hammers.

Players leaving: West Ham are yet to decide on Michail Antonio's future at the club as boss Graham Potter acknowledged the striker is in a "unique" situation.

Antonio, 34, has not played for the Hammers since he suffered a broken leg in a car crash in December, but is out of contract in the summer.

The club announced Lukasz Fabianski, Aaron Cresswell, Vladimir Coufal and Danny Ings will leave the London Stadium at the end of the season.

West Ham could decide to sell highly-rated forward Mohammed Kudus to fund additions to Potter's squad this summer.

Brazil midfielder Lucas Paqueta, who has been a top performer, could also reportedly leave the club.

Peter in Rugby: Any chance you experts might give some thoughts on what signings the promoted clubs like Burnley (my team) and Leeds might need to survive, along with negotiating the minefield of PSR?

Adam Pope: For Leeds United, Patrick Bamford’s injury record is a major concern. While Illan Meslier, who I believe will rediscover his form, probably has a future away from Elland Road.

Chairman Paraag Marathe has made it clear that he expects the club to attack the transfer market, having told BBC Radio Leeds last week that together with manager Daniel Farke "we are going to build the best squad we can, with every penny we are allowed to spend to be competitive in the Premier League".

To me, that suggests they will stay within PSR rather than break its parameters and worry about the consequences down the line.

Ao Tanaka of Leeds United celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Anon: What are Leeds United's targets and what do you think they will get out of the window?

Adam: Leeds United will not be telling anyone those details as they look to bolster the squad!

We’ve started to discuss on our podcast “Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet” the potential areas where they need to improve and once again the number 9 area is one along with goalkeeper. But you can make a case for a lot of positions which require signings.

Ethan Ampadu, Ao Tanaka, Dan James, Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk and Dan James I believe will cope in the Premier League. Willy Gnonto has the potential to be fulfilled, whilst Joel Piroe’s finishing is top drawer even if he may lack the lightning pace one associates with top-flight football.

  18. Nottingham Forest - transfer overviewpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 13 May

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest secured European football next season after Sunday's draw with Leicester City, and could still qualify for the Champions League.

That should help attract more players, following a British-record 22 new players signed in the summer of 2022.

Players in: Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto has been linked with Forest, as has Juventus defender Federico Gatti.

Players leaving: Ola Aina, Harry Toffolo, Willy Boly and Wayne Hennessey are all out of contract this summer.

England midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has been a standout performer and has been linked with a move to Manchester City. Nick Mashiter has looked at the chances of that happening here as well as areas they need to strengthen here.

  19. Transfer Q&A: Will Iraola be staying beyond this season?published at 15:20 British Summer Time 13 May

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport chief football news reporter

James, Bridport, Dorset: How many players will be leaving Bournemouth for “bigger” clubs. Can they keep hold of Andoni Iraola too?

Simon Stone: I don't get the impression owner Bill Foley is building a squad of players he can sell to make money, James.

My view would be Bournemouth will sell a couple but that money will be used to reinvest and build on what has been achieved this season. The issue for many middle-ranking teams is that they just don't have enough depth.

They have collected 10 points from their last 11 games, which is relegation form. Foley will want to ensure the club against that continuing next season. Iraola will attract a lot of attention. But I get the sense he might well give it another shot at the Vitality next season.

  20. Ipswich Town - transfer overviewpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 13 May

    Ipswich Town

Ipswich could see a clear out this summer after suffering relegation from the Premier League.

Players coming in: They may have to focus on getting players out first to help balance the books.

Players leaving: Ipswich's 22-year-old English striker Liam Delap is likely to leave and has been linked to a number of Premier League clubs.

Kalvin Phillips is pushing for a return to Leeds United following his loan spell at Ipswich from Manchester City this season.
