Wolves chairman Jeff Shi has travelled to the Vitality Stadium for an important match in the FA Cup against Bournemouth.

Shi has been a very public presence around the club having given Gary O'Neil a vote of confidence while publicly making it known that the club is looking for a new minority investor.

However, sacking O'Neil just days after the vote of confidence opened him up to criticism, despite him perhaps feeling vindicated as Vitor Pereira eases the club away from a relegation battle.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has scored in each of his last three FA Cup appearances, with the last two of those coming away from home at West Brom in January 2024 and Blackburn last time out.

Cunha had more shots on target than any other player across this season’s fourth round (5) and no player attempted more shots overall (8).

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace goalscorer Eddie Nketiah, speaking to BBC Sport: "I'm gutted for JP [Jean-Philippe Mateta]. He's a big character and I wish him a speedy recovery. I'm happy we got the win for him and go into the next round.

"This is unfortunately football sometimes. I want to play minutes, I work hard every day to do that, and today I got the opportunity - not in the best circumstances.

"I felt good, I knew it was going to be a tough game, had to stay patient and when the moment came, I had to be ready to take it.

"I'm ready, I pride myself on working hard every day. I'm ready and hopefully more opportunities will come, I just wan to be out there and help the team."

On whether Palace can win the FA Cup: "I've been able to experience that with Arsenal, so it would be nice to do it with Palace. We're one step closer and if we do well in next round we'll be at Wembley."

It is a sensational day at the Vitality Stadium but "revenge" is in the air.

Multiple Bournemouth players have used the word before kick-off after a tempestuous defeat to Wolves in the Premier League just one week ago - where they believe defender Ilya Zabarnyi was harshly sent off.

Now, with hopefully eleven men on the pitch, the Cherries are pushing to reach just the third FA Cup semi-final in their club's history.

Manager Andoni Iraola proved himself a cup specialist when managing in Spain, getting his two previous clubs Mirandes and Rayo Vallecano to the semi-final of the Copa Del Rey, a remarkable achievement given the stature of the clubs.

Wolves, meanwhile, look likely to survive in their relegation battle and would be well positioned to try to produce a run of their own, especially as Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham have all already been knocked out.

Millwall

Millwall boss Alex Neil, speaking to BBC Sport on his goalkeeper's challenge on Jean-Philippe Mateta: "I think the ball went in behind, [goalkeeper] Liam Roberts has come out which he has done in many games he's played. He's misjudged it and caught the lad. He has mistimed it, he got sent off which at that stage made the game doubly difficult for us.

"I don't think it is meant. I don't think there is any intent, why would there be intent? We don't want the lad to be injured. We wish him well and hope he is back on the pitch soon. It was a mistiming, he was sent off, he is disappointed and will hope Mateta is fine, which we all do.

"You are playing Premier League opposition on their own ground so it is a difficult task with 11 men. The nature of the goals probably disappoint me the most."

Bournemouth lost 1-0 to Wolves in the Premier League last weekend after Illia Zabarnyi's first-half dismissal proved costly for the high-flying Cherries.

The red card was considered controversial and Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has called on the Cherries to get "revenge" this afternoon.

"It's going to be like a revenge game for us," Semenyo said. "I feel like when we played them we dominated when we had 11 men. So when we went down to 10, it was obviously a bit tougher, but I feel like it's revenge for us.

"We're going to work hard over these next couple of days and then, get a win."

Asked if he believes there is a chance for Bournemouth to go far in the FA Cup this season he replied: "100%, I feel like we're getting closer and closer.

"The manager said it's really important to him personally to get to the final. So I feel like for us we just want to do the best we can to to get there."

Crystal Palace

Oliver Glasner speaking to BBC Sport on Jean-Philippe Mateta: "He is conscious and he is in hospital. His ear looks terrible. It's a very serious injury so we hope all the best for him. We are not really happy, we can't be really happy. Of course, it's a great win and into the quarter-finals but when you lose a player, especially with a foul like this, you have two different feelings in your stomach."

"Honestly, I didn't want to see it, I just watched it and it is terrible. I'm sure the goalkeeper didn't want to injure JP in this situation, no player wants this. But f you got to the ball with this with this intensity, with the foot at that height, you can't do it because it's so dangerous and we all have responsibilities for our health. I don't want to blame him but it is a terrible foul."

"I didn't see it like it was in the game, it was so quick, I could see the keeper had a lot of intensity, but he touched the ball first. But I could see it now in slow motion and it's worse."

On his player's reaction: "The players did well until 55th minute in the first half. We controlled the game and the lead was 2-0 and we gave them unnecessarily the ball before half time and then all of a sudden it's 1-2. They got back their belief. Second half wasn't the best half, didn't create a lot of chances but Eddie decided the game - an amazing header.

"Now after watching, it is tough to talk about game because I have this clip [of the challenge on Mateta] in my mind.

"Going to quarter-finals in the FA Cup , great achievement. Fingers crossed and hoping all the best for JP."

On Eddie Nketiah: "He needs to get back into the rhythm. You need this rhythm in the competition, in competitive games. Keep gong stay in the game, waiting as a striker. They played a deep block and he had to wait and then he decided the game for us.

On whether Palace can win the FA Cup: "It's winning the quarter-final. Lets see, the draw is tomorrow, lets see what team we will face. At the moment we are just waiting good news for JP. Hopefully he is back then."

This will be Bournemouth and Wolves' third meeting in the FA Cup. In 1947-48 Wolves won 2-1 in the third round, while in the 1956-57 fourth round the Cherries won 1-0 at Molineux.

Wolves won here in the Premier League on Saturday but only after Bournemouth had Illia Zabarnyi sent off in the first half. That completely skewed that result so I am not using it as a form guide for this tie.

What will be more relevant is how many changes both teams make for this game.

I was at Wolves' win over Blackburn in round four and their manager Vitor Pereira went kind of half-strong there. I can guarantee you he will be prioritising Premier League survival ahead of FA Cup progress, so we will probably see another mix-and-match selection from him.

As for Bournemouth, well I have already talked about why Crystal Palace should be trying to win the FA Cup this season, and the same definitely applies to Andoni Iraola's side.

The Cherries have only reached the quarter-finals twice before, losing at that stage in 1957 and 2021, and their best moments in the competition are probably as a lower-league giantkiller, such as when they beat Manchester United as a third-tier team in 1984.

This year, they are genuine contenders to win it and lift the club's first major trophy, and they have already shown they can beat anyone - especially at home.

They are still seventh in the Premier League despite losing their past two matches, and I would be really disappointed - no, actually I'd be angry - if Iraola picks a weakened team in the situation they are in.

He has got a responsibility to the fans to try to reach the semi-finals for the first time. Yes they have got a chance of making the Champions League, which would be incredible, but they are only two wins away from their biggest day out ever at Wembley. Why not go for it?

On what Paul Heckingbottom has brought to the side: "Energy and confidence, he puts a lot of trust in the team. He believes in me and I'm just buzzing to have a good performance."

Preston North End

Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom speaking to BBC Sport: "For the club, it is huge, for the fans it is huge. I didn't realise until this week, it is almost 60 years since we reached the quarter-finals."

"It makes a welcome change from the league. a 46-game league is tough. You get the excitement in the cup, we have gone through and we don't know what we're going to get."

On who he wants to get in the next round: "Home draw and I'm happy."

Burnley manager Scott Parker speaking to BBC Sport: "The real basics of the game didn't happen for us today. We tried to chase the game a little bit but it is fair to say that the better team won today. We were just a little bit short.

"I understand that we were a little bit short due to the conditions, the pitch but that's just the way it was. We'll regroup now, we'll learn from it. We'll head on now to the main mission and get ready for Tuesday night [away at Cardiff City].
