Will in-form Crystal Palace go for it in the FA Cup? I really hope so.

Oliver Glasner's side have improved as the season has gone on and they are comfortably in mid-table of the Premier League without any danger of going down. A cup run would really cap this as a successful campaign for him.

It would have an even bigger impact for Palace's fans. I still remember Ian Wright's goals in the 1990 final where they lost to Manchester United in a replay. They lost to United in the 2016 final too, and it would be great to give them a new memory.

FA Cup matches that take place during Ramadan will briefly pause to allow Muslim players to break their fast.

The Islamic holy month begins this weekend, with Manchester City's game against Plymouth on Saturday and Manchester United's match against Fulham the ties that could be affected.

Muslims around the world will be fasting, meaning they abstain from consuming any food or drink during daylight hours.

The Football Association's fifth-round fact sheet states: "Players observing Ramadan will be permitted a short pause in play to break their fast.

"An approximate time will be agreed when the pause will take place, and it will not be used as a team drinks break or tactical time-out."

City's game kicks-off at 17:45 GMT, with sunset taking place at 17:47, while United's game is a 16:30 kick-off the following day and the sun setting at 17:49.

5 Live has three live FA Cup commentaries today. Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock is joined by Chris Wise at Selhurst Park for Crystal Palace-Millwall (12:15 GMT) while ex-England keeper Rob Green is alongside Alistair Bruce-Ball for Bournemouth-Wolves (15:00).

Former Manchester City and England forward Izzy Christiansen is at Etihad Stadium with Conor McNamara for City-Plymouth (17:45).

Aston Villa and Cardiff City fans paid tribute to Peter Whittingham at Villa Park on Friday. Peter, who played for both clubs, died in hospital in March 2020 at the age of 35 after suffering a head injury in a fall. He helped Villa win the FA Youth Cup in 2002 before playing a part in Cardiff's promotion to the Premier League in 2012-13.

Crystal Palace name a strong XI for their FA Cup fifth-round clash with Millwall, perhaps sensing that with some of the traditional big clubs out of the way they have a chance to go deep in this competition.

Matt Turner replaces Dean Henderson in goal but it is otherwise a near-enough full-strength XI. Adam Wharton and Tyrick Mitchell are on the bench, with Jefferson Lerma in central midfield and England international Ben Chilwell starting at left wing-back for the hosts.

Crystal Palace XI: Turner, Richards, Guehi, Lacroix, Munoz, Chilwell, Hughes, Lerma, Sarr, Ee, Mateta.

Championship Millwall also go strong in their bid to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals - former Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga has been key for the visitors so far this season, and has the job of trying to stop the prolific Jean-Philippe Mateta this lunchtime.

When Plymouth Argyle dumped Premier League leaders Liverpool out of the fourth round in February, they became this year's big FA Cup story.

Having already disposed of top-flight opposition in Brentford in the third round, Miron Muslic's team will need to defy the odds again on Saturday, when they travel to face a Manchester City side who are looking to reach their third consecutive final.

Aside from the financial benefits of the fifth-round tie, which are likely to provide somewhere in the region of £600,000 and £1m in extra revenue, it will be a chance for the Pilgrims' 7,800 travelling fans, their players and all associated with the club to dream of causing another monumental upset.

But what makes an FA Cup giant-killer? BBC Sport's Steven Sutcliffe looks at some of Plymouth's heroes in the competition so far.

When these two clubs met in the Championship on 15 February, Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri accused Preston forward Milutin Osmajic of racially abusing him during a goalless draw.

Preston said Montenegro international Osmajic "strongly refuted" the claims.

The FA is still investigating the incident, with interviews to be conducted with both players, several club staff and any witnesses. If found guilty, Osmajic faces a minimum ban of six games.

The big team news from this game sees Preston forward Milutin Osmajic starting the game.

Lilywhites boss Paul Heckingbottom makes four changes to the side that lost at Coventry last time out.

Will Keane, Robbie Brady, Brad Potts and Liam Lindsay come in with Sam Greenwood, Jayden Meghoma, Andy Hughes and Ryan Porteous dropping out.

Burnley boss Scott Parker has made a significant call by leaving out Hannibal Mejbri completely from the squad.

With this tie being the only FA Cup fifth-round fixture taking place at a non-Premier League ground, the semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) will not be in operation here.

Is is fair to have a different playing field for clubs competing in the same competition?

VAR is in operation at all fifth-round ties.This will include in-stadium VAR announcements, where match officials will announce their final decision in relation to reviewed incidents to provide "improved clarity and understanding" for fans and viewers.

Semi-automated offside technology will also be used in all seven matches taking place at Premier League grounds. It is the first time it will be used live in competitive matches in English football.

The technology was first used in elite-level football at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and has since been used in leagues including Serie A and La Liga, as well as the Champions League.

It is designed to make the judgement of tight offside calls easier for officials by rendering key parts of the process automatic.

Aston Villa - who have not won a major trophy since 1996 - are two wins from the final after overcoming Championship strugglers Cardiff City 2-0 at Villa Park on Friday.

But who will be joining them in the quarter-finals?

There are four more ties today:

Crystal Palace v Millwall (12:15 GMT) - watch live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport website & app.
