Barry Ferguson bid farewell to the Ibrox faithful following a 2-1 win against Aberdeen back in May 2009.

He came off the bench on an emotional afternoon, not knowing then, that, fewer than 16 years later, he'd be in the dugout in Govan.

    He makes his return today...

When Dundee thumped Motherwell 4-0 to leapfrog the visitors into fifth place in early December, the talk was about two sides from the City of Discovery finishing in the top six.

However, after a run of five straight league defeats for Tony Docherty's side, the fear of relegation blues have returned to the Dens Park side of Tannadice Street.

Now four points adrift of third-bottom Kilmarnock and only three clear of St Johnstone, Saturday's visit of the Premiership's bottom side could be season defining for Dundee.

Pressure will mount on Docherty - from Dundee fans at least - should the improving Perth side secure a sixth win in their latest eight outings to draw level in what could then develop into a two-team dogfight to avoid the automatic relegation spot.

A victory for either would, of course, take them closer to one, if not two, of the teams immediately above, considering Kilmarnock visit Ross County.

    Ross County v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Don Cowie changes three from the side that lost to St Johnstone through the week. Nohan Kenneh, Ronan Hale and George Harmon are all benched.

In their place come Josh Nisbet, Jordan White and Zac Ashworth.

Derek McInnes recalls David Watson to the side for his just his third league start since the turn of the year.

Liam Polworth and Bruce Anderson are the other changes. Bobby Wales, Kyle Magennis, and Danny Armstrong are all named on the bench.

  8. Yilmaz starts for Rangers; Balmer back for Wellpublished at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    Rangers v Motherwell (15:00)

One change for each team at Ibrox as Ridvan Yilmaz takes over from Clinton Nsiala. Barry Ferguson made that switch after half an hour of Wednesday's win at Rugby Park with Rangers trailing 2-0 at the time.

That means skipper James Tavernier will be in central defence for his 500th club appearance.

There's no place for Nsiala on the home bench, with Dujon Sterling and Leon Balogun available again.

The Motherwell alteration is also in defence, as Kofi Balmer replaces the absent Stephen O'Donnell.

Andy Halliday takes on the captaincy against his old team.

  9. Shaughnessy's first Dundee start this season; one change for Saintspublished at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    Dundee v St Johnstone (15:00)

Tony Docherty has opted for experience in this massive match at Dens, and he's been handed a big boost... Captain Joe Shaughnessy starts for the first time this season.

The Dundee defender has made only two substitute appearances since recovering from a knee injury he picked up last April.

Ryan Astley drops to the bench to make way for his skipper, while Trevor Carson returns between the sticks in place of Jon McCracken.

Cesar Garza is also in for Scott Tiffoney.

It's just the one change for St Johnstone, as Barry Douglas replaces Jonathan Svedberg.
