Matt Ward’s goal gave Woking a 1-0 win over Boston in the Vanarama National League.

Ward’s emphatic 38th-minute finish set up the Surrey side for their first league victory since 10 September, lifting them clear of the struggling teams.

Among them are Boston, who have now picked up just four points from a possible 33 since winning at Sutton on 7 September.

Boston goalkeeper Aidan Stone denied Jack Stretton on the stroke of half-time as Woking pushed for a second, but Ward’s effort proved to be enough.
