Linfield chairman Roy McGivern on BBC Two NI: "I'm incredibly proud. We won the title a few weeks back but to win today against our rivals is the icing on the cake. They deserve all the credit for what they have done this season.

"It's now 57 league titles. This club has been bred on success. That brings pressure but the players and staff have delivered. The league is becoming more and more competitive, so for Linfield to be at the top, that's what it's all about."

Congratulations to Linfield, to win the league before the split takes place has never been done before and it's a phenomenal achievement for a team that have been so successful. A 57th league title, but it is a bit different winning it with so many games to spare. Linfield have set the benchmark very high this year.

I'm very pleased, this is exceptional. You never get sick of winning. Today brings together a season of hard work from David Healy, his players and his back-room staff. There were times when people doubted him, but chairman Roy McGivern and the board deserve credit for backing him all the way and players delivered on the pitch for him.
