I think every single player involved with the campaign last year would agree that it wasn't as tidy as they would've liked and some of the results didn't go the way they would've hoped, missing out on the Olympics, perhaps that was a blessing in disguise.
It's given Sarina Wiegman plenty of things to think about and plenty of opportunities to tweak things.
We've seen a progression in the structure of the defence from the Germany game to the South Africa game to the USA game, where our structure was much better. We failed to create any sort of dangerous chances and then a better performance against Switzerland and a Grace Clinton goal to cap the year off.
It's progressing in the right direction but are these expectations more lofty because of the European championship team, the fantastic Lionesses, that won the trophy in 2022 that changed English footballing history for women?
