Ian Evatt celebrated his 250th game as Bolton Wanderers boss with a League One victory as his team came from behind late on to beat 10-man Mansfield Town.

The Stags led through Hiram Boateng’s first-half header and looked to be heading for a first win at Bolton since 1987.

But they were then undone by Boateng’s 70th-minute sending-off for a foul on Randell Williams – his second caution in 11 minutes.

And Bolton cashed in as Dion Charles, Victor Adeboyejo and John McAtee all struck in a devastating 10-minute spell after

Northern Ireland international Charles – one of four home substitutes introduced on the hour – equalised five minutes later before Adeboyejo (80) and McAtee (85) completed the unlikeliest of wins.

Bolton were booed off after an abject first-half display in which Boateng notched his second goal of the campaign from Lucas Akins’ right-wing cross in the 34th minute.

It did not get any better for the home side after the break as Adeboyejo flapped at a great chance from Jordan Bowery’s poor back pass.

Mansfield, suffering a fourth successive league defeat, thought they had doubled their advantage but referee Seb Stockbridge ruled Boateng’s effort had not crossed the line - and then Bolton took advantage of the extra man as they finally rallied to claim victory.
