That far side is the danger area of the pitch so far in this game.

Caitlin Foord tricks her way past Lucy Bronze to get into the Chelsea box and looks to pick out Mariona Caldentey but the ball is taken off the toes of last season's WSL Player of the Year before she can take aim.

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

This is better from Arsenal. They've managed to stem the Chelsea attacking machine for the time being and are just starting to build up some passages of play.

    Manchester United 0-0 Aston Villa

Villa skipper for the day Missy Bo Kearns does well to hold up play in the right channel and roll the ball back to Chasity Grant to cross but again the final ball is poor and rolls harmlessly into the arms of United keeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce.

The visitors are just lacking that bit of finesse at the minute.

Surprised not to see Hinds playing, McCabe's looking well off the pace in this game.

    Ali - London

It has indeed been a tough start to the game for McCabe, particularly with Bronze doubling up with Johanna Rytting Kaneryd on that side for Chelsea.

    Manchester United 0-0 Aston Villa

Sabrina D'Angelo goes for the route one approach to try and pick out Chasity Grant up top for Villa.

The Dutch winger does manage to nod the ball onto Miri Taylor but the return pass is poor and drifts behind for a United goal kick.

We've hardly had a chance to take a breath as we approach the 20 minute mark at the Emirates.

Both sides are really going for it.

I don't know how that stayed out of the back of the net there. Daphne van Domselaar parries it into the area.

Chelsea are not easing off the gas here, and Arsenal need to clear their lines better, otherwise, this will be a long game.

  8. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 12:17 GMT

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

Almost a second for Chelsea as Catarina Macario does well to shrug off the attentions of Lotte Wubben-Moy on the edge of the box before stinging the palms of Daphne van Domselaar.

The ball then drops back into the box off the crossbar and some last-ditch defending is needed to prevent a tap in on the rebound.

    Manchester United 0-0 Aston Villa

    United's pressing is utterly relentless.

Every time Villa midfielders Lucia Kendall and Missy Bo Kearns get on the ball near the half way line they are immediately pushed back towards their own goal.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:14 GMT

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

Beth Mead swings a dangerous corner into the front post and Millie Bright and Erin Cuthbert make a mess of clearing it for Chelsea.

Thankfully keeper Hannah Hampton shows sharp reactions to stick out a leg and stop it going over the line before Lucy Bronze hammers it away.

Much as the WSL needs a Chelsea defeat today to stay interesting, I can't see Arsenal's defence holding out for long against the pacey and skilful Chelsea front three.

Natalia Arroyo is waving frantically by the touchline. Her Villa side have yet to get into this one so far.

United just keep coming at them in wave after wave of attack.

    Arsenal 0-1 Chelsea

Absolutely unbelievable goal from Alyssa Thompson.

She's dribbled into the space in the middle as the Arsenal players back off her. Then that lovely dink over Daphne van Domselaar, there's nothing she could have done there.

The power, the precision to get the ball over in that moment. What an incredible young talent she is.

Alyssa Thompson, that is utterly ridiculous!

After a trademark Lucy Bronze run down the right, the USA international lifted a superb finish from the edge of the box over the helpless Daphne van Domselaar.

The Emirates Stadium is well and truly stunned.

    Alyssa Thompson (9 mins)

    There it is.

Chelsea take the lead they've been threatening with a sweeping move down the right hand side which ends in a looping finish from United States forward Alyssa Thompson that drifts over Daphne van Domselaar and into the far top corner.

Dangerous cross into the box from Fridolina Rolfo but Anna Patten does well to thump it into the sunny sky before it can reach the feet of Elisabeth Terland.

  17. Postpublished at 12:08 GMT

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

Arsenal haven't quite got going yet, not exactly the "ready from the off" start boss Renee Slegers called for pre-match.

They're sloppy again in possession at the back there, presenting Wieke Kaptein with a chance to shoot from range but she volleys it high and wide of the target.

  18. Postpublished at 12:07 GMT

It's certainly been an enterprising start from Chelsea.

Johanna Rytting Kaneryd is causing all sorts of problems for Katie McCabe down the far channel.

It's been a calmer start in Leigh.

Elisabeth Terland just tried to break clear of the Villa back line but Sabrina D'Angelo does well to rush out and claim it before the Norwegian could get a shot away.

  20. 'Let-off for Arsenal'published at 12:04 GMT

    Arsenal 0-0 Chelsea

    Chloe Morgan

I think that's what Chelsea can do. They can get into those attacking areas quickly on the counter.

That's a let-off for Arsenal. You don't want to be going 1-0 down two minutes into the game.
