A 1-1 draw probably sums it up. The game on Tuesday will be interesting. Romania made it hard for Northern Ireland tonight.

A frustrating game for Northern Ireland, who are held to a draw by Romania in Bucharest.

Danielle Maxwell had opened the scoring, but Northern Ireland gifted Romania a leveller and Tanya Oxtoby's side struggled to break down the hosts in a quiet enough second half.

Romania almost grabbed all three points with that late strike that rattled the crossbar, but a draw was a fair enough result.

Northern Ireland will want an improved display at Windsor Park on Tuesday when these two sides meet again.

Florentina Olar's cross falls to Olga Iordachiusi and she finds Mihaela Ciolacu, whose curling strike rattles the crossbar and bounces away, much to the relief of Jackie Burns, who was well beaten.

There will be five minutes of additional time at the end of this game.

I hope I am wrong, but I can't see either side getting a late winner as this game has started to peter out, although Simone Magill did deliver late on against Bosnia-Herzegovina for Northern Ireland last time out...

Big chance squandered for Northern Ireland as Scofield feeds Simone Magill, but on the slide can only poke the ball at Andreea Paraluta, who palms the shot away.

Jackie Burns does well to tip an awkwardly dipping cross from Carmen Marcou away for a corner.

From the resulting corner kick, Brenna McPartlan was forced to clear a deep header from Mihaela Ciolacu off the line.
