Sweden boss Peter Gerhardsson: "We're not thinking about the end at all, it is the same feeling I have now than I've had before any quarter-final. You don't know what is going to happen afterwards so the only thing you can influence is the match at hand.

"We've been fortunate to go through to the quarters at the last few tournaments but if you are knocked out there is a certain emptiness.

"That is why getting a bronze medal is sometimes cooler than getting silver because you've just lost a match.

"I don't think it is a challenge to not look ahead. Most people think of the match just in front of you. We are very focused on this. We are experienced in playing this kind of match."

Sweden's captain Kosovare Asllani has been speaking to the media ahead of their quarter-final against England at Euro 2025:

"I feel like Sweden is always flying under the radar and that is something that suits us. We believe that we are one of the best teams in the world due to the results, but people barely speak about us.

"We know we can beat any team in the world at our best so we don't think about it too much but people should talk about us more."

Sweden's former Manchester City forward Kosovare Asllani: "I haven't thought about that match at all to be honest with you [the 4-0 defeat against England at Euro 2022]. What is on my mind is the two most recent games against England, two draws, and since then a lot of things have happened.

"We've played a number of matches after that against other teams and that is what you need to focus on.

"I haven't completely forgot that match but it is not one that I dwell on. I will start with the attitude that we're going to win this match."

What fans said after Sweden overpowered Germany 4-1 to advance as Group C winners...

Wee Brian: Hugely impressed with Sweden. They ran Germany ragged. Their passing and movement at pace as exemplified by the fourth goal was superb. Definite contenders on this form.

DMT: The Swedes look fit and I mean that in the aerobic sense. People commenting about the old age of a lot of the England team, and almost using that as an excuse for lack of mobility. Well, Swedish captain Kosovare Asllani is 36 in a few days time, and she still covers every blade of grass. Across the board I thought the Swedes looked full of running.

NeverEnoughFootball: Smart play by Sweden manager to take starters out for rest and get bench involved. Playing for the long haul.

"We've got a lot of players who play at major clubs in Europe and you mesh it together sometimes. We a very hungry side and we want success."

This is Sweden boss Peter Gerhardsson's last tournament after eight years in charge. Gerhardsson, who turns 66 next month, masterminded a Sweden win over England in the third-place play-off at the 2019 World Cup.

However, the Lionesses hammered his Sweden side 4-0 in semi-final at Euro 2022 on the way to being crowned European champions.

Gerhardsson used 21 players in the three group games at Euro 2025, including eight aged 31 or over. "We do change things around quite a lot," he says. "We are not a one-trick pony."

We'll be hearing a lot more from Gerhardsson in the next few moments.
