Bannsiders' boss Dean Shiels will be unhappy about the manner of the goal his team has conceded.
Senan Devine gave away a cheap free-kick near the touchline while Knowles was given the space to meet Alves' free-kick inside the six yard area.
Opposite number Rodey McAree, however, will be delighted with the response from his players to his half-time team talk.

We said both sides were struggling to create from open play so it's no surprise that both goals have come from set-pieces, two great deliveries into the box and two good finishes.
It's no more than Dungannon deserve to be fair, they didn't deserve to go in a goal down as they were as good as Coleraine if not better.
Loughgall 2-0 Glenavon
Loughgall kick off the second half and within seconds, Alberto Balde Almanzar has his head in his hands. The ball was whipped in and he was right in front of goal but he screwed his effort wide.
James Knowles (47 mins)
Less than two minutes after the restart and the visitors are level, James Knowles heading home Leo Alves' free-kick from six yards out.
Glentoran 0-1 Larne
Sean Graham's low cross for Larne finds its way to Paul O'Neill who cuts back inside onto his left foot, but his shot is well off-target.

It was a very poor penalty. You have to at least hit the target but he [Thorndike] is high, wide and handsome.
That'll be a cause for concern to miss three penalties in a row and whoever stands up next there is going to be big pressure on them.

Set-pieces are a big part of the game and they [Dungannon] haven't managed to defend that one at all, they don't make the first contact or react for the second contact. Shevlin is one of the best in the business for poaching in and around that six-yard box and it's a great finish from him.
Loughgall 2-0 Glenavon
Nathaniel Ferris heads home from close range to give the hosts a two-goal cushion over Glenavon.

Loughgall 2-0 Glenavon
A quick Loughgall double gives the home side a 2-0 lead but Glenavon will be left to rue some big missed chances.
David McDaid probably should have done better when he was slipped through from Matthew Snoddy, but Nathan Gartside closed down the space and made the save.
Later in the half Glenavon’s Niall Quinn totally miscued his effort after a wonderful Rhys Marshall cross and Peter Campbell fired the follow up effort wide.
But the tide turned after Loughgall’s Conor McCloskey forced a save from Gareth Deane which was turned behind for a corner.
From the resultant corner, the ball made it’s way to Jordan Gibson who curled his shot into the top corner of the net.
Minutes later, Nathaniel Ferris made it two after he met a Jamie Rea cross with a powerful header at the near post.

Dungannon now have to come out and take a few more risks, take a few more gambles, getting bodies forward and do things quicker in the final third because it is nice moving the ball around the park, but there has to be a reason for what you're doing and an end product.

The big thing for Larne is they are a goal ahead, defensively solid and sometimes it's a dangerous game to sit in and hold on so it'll be interesting to see how they approach the second half.
Coleraine 1-0 Dungannon Swifts
Half-time at the Showgrounds where Coleraine lead 1-0 thanks to Matthew Shevlin's goal on the stroke of half-time.

Glentoran 0-1 Larne
Referee Evan Boyce brings an eventful 45 minutes to a close at the Oval.

It's the Glens' third successive failure from the penalty spot - will it prove costly today?
