Luka Jovanovic scored the only goal of the game as Adelaide United beat Newcastle Jets to end a run of seven games without a win.
Substitute Jovanovic struck in the 80th minute - jinking past Kosta Grozos and Brandon O'Neill before shooting low into the net.
Jets goalkeeper Ryan Scott had a chance to level when he went forward for a corner, but his diving header went over.
Victory moved the Reds above their hosts into ninth in the A-League.
