Braintree made sure of their National League status thanks to a 2-0 home win over Rochdale on the last day of the season.
The Essex club were 19th heading into the match and needed a point to guarantee safety but ended up with all three against fourth-placed Dale, who will now turn their attention to the play-offs.
The home side scrambled ahead through Kyrell Lisbie in first-half stoppage time and he doubled Braintree's lead 11 minutes into the second half.
Rochdale will host Southend on 15 May in a play-off eliminator while the win left Braintree 17th in the final standings.
