    Leicester 0-0 Everton

Everton midfielder Nicole Momiki swings a free kick into the box from the left and it takes a nick off a Leicester head in the middle before going behind for a corner.

The resulting delivery is poor though and the danger disappears.

Liverpool's build-up play has progressed under Gareth Taylor but you can see in the forward line they need to improve on their goals scored and shots taken.

They're not getting the ball into the forward players nearly enough. It's good having possession but if you're not getting it forward then what's the point in it.

    Leicester 0-0 Everton

It's been a high tempo start from Everton.

They're certainly starting with the intent to end their four game winless run in all competitions. No chances of note for either side yet though.

The pressure is on for Liverpool boss Gareth Taylor.

If he falls to defeat against London City Lionesses today, he would have lost four Women's Super League games in a row for the first time in his managerial career.

He has previously won eight of his nine games against newly promoted opposition mind.

It’s been a strong start to the season for Tottenham under new boss Martin Ho.

As well as tinkering the positions of a few of his players - for example, playing captain Bethany England a little deeper - he has been able to get the best out of new signing Cathinka Tandberg.

She already has two goals and one assist in four WSL games and has taken on the number nine role impressively.

“Tinka’s had a big impact personally and professionally,” said Ho, when asked about her this week.

“She’s a very infectious player around the group, is a really good individual, and adds a lot of quality to us as a team.

“She also gives us different dimensions as a player in terms of how we want to play and how we want to attack and defend.”

No team have conceded more goals in the opening 30 minutes of WSL games so far this season than Leicester City (5 – level with West Ham) - the Foxes have also faced the most shots (24) and shots on target (15) in that period.

No team have fallen 1-0 behind in more Women’s Super League matches since the start of last season than Leicester City (17 – level with Tottenham Hotspur).

Two of the WSL's three remaining winless sides meet today in East London looking to kick-start their season.

West Ham are rock bottom of the table after losing all four of their matches, conceding 14 goals and scoring just twice.

Aston Villa snatched a point away at Arsenal last weekend with an injury-time equaliser.

History is on Villa's side - they are unbeaten in their last five WSL games against the Hammers.

Two sides in desperate need of a win are in action at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester are eighth in the table, with one win (a 1-0 victory over Liverpool) from their opening four matches. Everton sit one place above them in the table and have lost three league matches on the bounce – four in all competitions – since beating Liverpool 4-1 in their opening match of the season.

Both sides have struggled in front of goal this season – Leicester have found the back of the net just twice while Everton have only scored once since beating Liverpool – and unfortunately, history suggests their luck in front of goal is unlikely to change today.

Leicester versus Everton averages fewer goals per game than any other in WSL history, with just three goals in four meetings.

London City Lionesses' tough start to the Women's Super League season has "made us grow up", says manager Jocelyn Precheur.

The newly-promoted side faced three of the league's top four in their opening four fixtures, losing against Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City.

However, they picked up a valuable three points at Goodison Park when they beat Everton 2-1 in September.

"We knew it would be tough. Firstly, being promoted and adapting to the WSL is a challenge," said Precheur.

"When you play the majority of the games at the beginning of the season against the top four, it is even more difficult. But it is probably the best way to learn and to adapt fast.

"We want to be able to one day compete and reach this level. In September we had a big chance to evaluate the gap between our level at the moment and where we want to go to in the future.

"We took many lessons from all of these games. It made us grow up, I have no doubt about it. Now we need to compete in this league."

For me, I know it is too early but I think West Ham are relegation favourites. They need to start getting points soon, or the club will face a difficult season.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, West Ham boss Rehanne Skinner reflected on her side's 4-0 defeat to Chelsea last weekend during which they were three goals and a player down after 23 minutes:

"We didn't start too badly, then lost control and momentum. Early learning curve in season, but thought response was exceptional especially with 10. Had some clear cut chances, could have scored three.

"But teams have taken chances against us. Thought character and resilience was much more the team I'm used to seeing, desire to fight to end of the game. For that 60 minute period I was proud, and the fans were louder as they value that. Disappointed to concede in second half.

"Results have not gone how we wanted, but there have been [good] spells in every game. We just haven't delivered a whole performance yet."

Liverpool boss Gareth Taylor wants his side to change their fortunes "as quickly as possible", after failing to collect a point from their opening three games of the Women's Super League season.

The Reds sit second bottom with zero points, only sitting above rock bottom West Ham (also winless and pointless) on goal difference.

"It does take time", said Taylor, who took over as Head Coach on the red side of Merseyside after previously spending five years at Manchester City.

"We are sat here unfortunately with zero points and we want to change that as quickly as possible. We know what we have to do in games to be in the right space."

Feels early to say that, but they've yet to get off the mark this season, and have only scored three goals between them across their opening games.

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner said that his side's display at the Progress With Unity Stadium - where Chelsea clinched last season's title - proved the Blues won't have it quite as easy this time around.

"It shows to Chelsea they're not just going to walk the league," he added.

"We need to make sure everyone is putting a challenge in. I think the league is getting better and you saw the quality, that we are progressing too."

Blues boss Bompastor was "not happy" with Chelsea's performance, but said a draw was "not a bad result at Manchester United".

Asked if United were title challengers, she added: "I see many teams being real competition for us, every game brings a different challenge. You have to be ready for every game."

  20. City strike blow against title rivals Arsenalpublished at 11:38 BST

    FT: Man City 3-2 Arsenal

We've already seen the so-called 'big four' in action this weekend, and the ultimate winners of it all were Manchester City.

With neighbours Manchester United taking a hard fought point off champions Chelsea on Friday, the Blues beat European champions Arsenal 3-2 on Saturday, with Iman Beney's stoppage time goal snatching the points and closing the gap to the summit to just a point.

Five games played, just two points between first and third, say it quietly, but we may well have an exciting title race on our hands...
