Antony has scored three goals for Betis since joining on loan in January
On-loan Manchester United winger Antony was shown a straight red card during Real Betis' 2-1 win at Getafe in La Liga.
With visitors Betis holding a narrow lead deep into six minutes of stoppage time, the Brazil forward lunged at the ankle of Getafe's Juan Iglesias when charging down the ball.
Antony trudged down the tunnel at Coliseum Stadium after referee Javier Alberola Rojas brandished the red card.
The 24-year-old is now suspended for the match against defending champions Real Madrid, who trail leaders Barcelona on goal difference after Sunday's 2-0 win against Girona.
Since completing a temporary move from Old Trafford in the January transfer window, Antony has scored three goals for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
And before seeing red, he contributed to Betis' opening goal by playing a pinpoint pass to Isco who slotted home.
The former Real Madrid midfielder then secured the points with his second goal from the penalty spot in the 77th minute.
Both sides finished with 10 men after Getafe centre-back Domingos Duarte was shown a second yellow card for a tackle in the last minute of stoppage time.
Betis' victory means they move above Mallorca and Real Sociedad into seventh, level on points with sixth-placed Rayo Vallecano.
