Rangers goalkeeper Victoria Esson tells BBC Alba: "At the end of the day we managed to score a great goal at quite a critical time and then survived the second half.

"Credit to the girls for slogging it out for 90 minutes, we needed that three points."

A battling performance from Rangers keeps them hot on Celtic's tail for the final two games of the season.

A disappointing end to the game for Glasgow City who put up a solid fight but any chance they had of the SWPL title have disappeared.

Rangers have a free-kick on the halfway line as Megan Foley goes in the book.

Tessel Middag sends it up the pitch and Mia McAulay does really well to keep in the initial ball before it eventually bundles out for a City throw.

Up the other end Emily Whelan's strike from the edge of the box is inches wide of the target.

Time for a City change as Chloe Warrington is replaced by Wilma Forsblom.

Lee Gibson does really well to keep out Rio Hardy who tries to smash it beyond the City keeper from close range.

Kathy Hill's then sends her effort well wide.

Lee Gibson tries to clear but it only finds Liv McLoughlin in a Rangers shirt.

Mia McAulay's resulting effort is sent behind for a corner.

Jodi McLearly sends that one in and City have to scramble it away before Lee Gibson can catch the follow up.

Mia McAulay wins the ball off the City defence and tries to play in Sarah Ewens but the ref eventually blows for a foul.

Sarah Ewens and Libby Bance replace Lizzie Arnot and Jane Ross for Rangers.

Mia McAulay gets another strike away but it doesn't trouble Lee Gibson.

Nic Docherty tries to send Jane Ross on the right but there's too much on the pass as the ball trickles out for a throw-in.

Another change for City as Megan Foley replaces Anna Oscarsson.

Rio Hardy lays off her fellow attacker but the shot just nips beyond the far post.

A double change for Rangers now as Rio Hardy and Tessel Middag replace Kirsty Howat and Rachel McLauchlan.

Gambone goes down just outside the Rangers box and wins her side a free-kick.

The delivery is straight off the wall though.

There's claims for a handball from the orange shirts as the ball appeared to hit Mia McAulay in the arm. Where's VAR when you need it?

Carlee Giammona volleys the cross from Aleigh Gambone and forces Vic Esson into a wonderful save to keep her side in front.

Up the other end, Chelsea Cornet unleashes a shot at Lee Gibson who's not troubled by her effort.

Kirsty Howat goes down and lands right on her shoulder, looks like a sore one.

There's a break in play while she gets some treatment but it looks like she should be ok to keep going.

A little bit of afters between Rachel McLauchlan and Carlee Giammona as the ball went out for a throw in - things heating up in Glasgow!

It's been a bright start to the second half for Leanne Ross' side.
