The demeanour from the players is it's like they've just had a maths lesson with a teacher they don't like and they're all coming out confused.

There's not really any kind of warmth from Erik ten Hag to the players. Ten Hag doesn't have the charisma to manage at a top club.

  2. 'Winning against Lyon would be huge'published at 19:50 British Summer Time 3 October

    Rangers v Lyon (20:00 BST)

Rangers manager Philippe Clement urged "realistic" expectations of his side, currently sitting third in the Scottish Premiership, and believes that Lyon are about the same level as Benfica, who defeated Rangers in the knockout stage of the Europa League last season.

"Winning against Lyon would be a huge thing," he said. "Even a draw would be a very, very good result.

"We'll go for the three points, but for that we need a few players to be above their level and have an amazing evening. We would also need the fans to be our 12th player and to bring us incredible energy."

Erik ten Hag could be facing some difficult questions next week.

Tonight's game is just as important to Manchester United as the Aston Villa game coming up at the weekend.

We saw Villa beat Bayern Munich last night and we all know where Villa are in the league (5th).

So Manchester United are in for two very tough games.

Porto v Man Utd (20:00 BST)

Two huge games coming up for Manchester United before the October international break.

After tonight they return to prepare for Sunday's Premier League game at Aston Villa (14:00 BST) - who beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Will all the talk still be about Ten Hag's future next week?

  8. TNS 'don't want to be tourists'published at 19:44 British Summer Time 3 October

Fiorentina v The New Saints (20:00 BST)

The New Saints head coach Craig Harrison says his side are looking to show they belong in the upper echelons of European competition as they prepare for their first group game with a daunting visit to Fiorentina.

"There’s an element of excitement and we’re looking forward to it, and then, obviously, we’ve got to make sure we’re very professional leading up to it," Harrison said.

"We’re not going out there just as tourists, going to see a big ground and a big crowd."

That late goal is probably a bit harsh on Larne, but Molde really showed their class in the second half.

For Larne, it's back to the daily grind on Sunday when they take on Dungannon Swifts. That will be a gear change from tonight's European debut.

Whoever Spurs are playing, they're getting too many chances, even back to that Coventry game.

They've just got ot look tight. It's lovely going forward, but there's two sides to football, when you've got it and when you've not got it.

They've just got to sort that out if they're going to go on and beat better opponents.
