Carlisle bounced back from their first defeat of the season to beat Brackley and move up to third in the National League.

Regan Linney's sixth goal of the campaign provided the breakthrough in the 79th minute.

The 28-year-old, controlled a strong pass from Jack Ellis before hammering a low shot across goal and into the bottom corner.

Brackley, who dropped to 13th after a third match without a win, had their chances with Matt Lowe's first-half header flying just wide of the post.
