"We're in such a small bubble, you move on to the next thing. We were quickly back on the bus playing Uno [after the semi-final], ready for the next match. Our focus is now on the final. It's just back to base camp and keep focusing."

"We work so hard, day in and day out, across the season. We're all here on merit, we're regular starters for our club teams. It's hard to adapt to being a substitute but everyone's together. It [England's run to the final] has brought the group together."

Ollie Watkins was made to wait before being thrown on against the Netherlands in the semi-final, so perhaps it is only fitting that he is fashionably late to today's news conference.

Not sure the Aston Villa striker will be able to replicate the impact he made against the Dutch though.

Euro 2024 fan zone in Berlin with rain about to fall

Let's hope the sky above Berlin is getting rid of all its rain now before Sunday because the heavens have opened big time here.

Just before everyone ran off to find cover, I braved asking fans of teams who had been knocked out for their thoughts on the final.

Michel, a Germany fan, said: "I would prefer Spain to win. I wished for the Netherlands to win the tournament since Germany got knocked out, but now I think Spain is the better choice because English football is not that attractive to watch."

Ole, a Netherlands fan, said: "Spain have played the best football until now, and of course we lost to England, so we have to support the opposite team, really."

Daniele and son Flavio, who are Italy fans, said: "England do have some great players like Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Kobbie Mainoo, but we think Spain will win 2-0."

Germany fan Benjamin, with his son Fabian, said: "We want England to win. They have Harry Kane and he is the best English player. We also don't like Spain because they beat Germany."

Spanish media reports have suggested that Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata will be able to play on Sunday after all. The 31-year-old seemed happy training with the rest of the Spain squad on Thursday.

Alvaro Morata's chances of playing in the final were put in doubt because of a strange incident after Spain's semi-final win over France on Tuesday.

During the team's on-pitch celebrations, a security guard who rushed to intercept a pitch invader heading for the Spain players and slipped, sliding into Morata's leg. The Spain captain was left holding his knee and limping in discomfort.

Having won a football tournament on foreign soil (Kiren Cup 2006), I have no problems with England matching Scotland's achievement. After we destroyed England 0-0 at Wembley in the last Euros I can see England have stepped their game up so its entirely possible the hard work will pay off. Good luck from your northern neighbours on Sunday.

Ian, up in Scotland, trying to be nice

Thanks Ian. I'm sure that will be much appreciated by Gareth Southgate and his players.

Gareth [Southgate] in the past has been criticised for not being a gambler in terms of his selection. He gambled at the start of the tournament with Trent [Alexander-Arnold] in the midfield area.

However, we’ve got Kobbie Mainoo. It’s been unbelievable from Gareth to actually get to the stage where he gets him in the team and keeps him in the team.

The fact that Gareth got there, how he got there doesn’t matter. He changed the system. I think everybody thought that it would be a back four all the way throughout the Euros.

He has been brave, he has tinkered, but he’s found a way of getting England to the final and people within the game really admire what he’s done and where he’s got England to.

The FA should absolutely give a different manager the opportunity with these players for as well as Southgate has done, he's getting the plaudits for the root-to-branch review the FA implemented many, many years ago. The next manager should be someone who lets the handbrake off, please.

You can tell there’s a final in a couple of days by the amount of media at England’s media centre in Blankenhain.

As the players and manager enter the castle there would usually only be a couple of media waiting or doing work in the courtyard.

However, today there’s lots of cameras pointing at the entrance as Gareth Southgate, Ollie Watkins and other players on media duty enter the building.
