  1. CLOSE!published at 14:59 British Summer Time 9 April

    Bosnia-Herzegovina 0-0 Northern Ireland

Jackie Burns produces a super stop to prevent Emina Ekic from opening the scoring.

She wriggled past Demi Vance and Keri Halliday before seeing her strike parried behind by Burns for a corner.

That was way too easy for Ekic from a Northern Ireland point of view.

    Bosnia-Herzegovina 0-0 Northern Ireland

Rebecca McKenna surges into the box before seeing her low cross cleared before Lauren Wade can get on the end of it.

Northern Ireland look dangerous when they get the likes of McKenna and Demi Vance on the ball in wide areas.

Northern Ireland just have to get back to the basics, start to play feet and do the things that we are strong at. Play out wide to our wingers and get it into the box and make sure we have runners going forward.

  6. CLOSE!published at 14:45 British Summer Time 9 April

    Bosnia-Herzegovina 0-0 Northern Ireland

How has Simone Magill not scored from there?

A deep free-kick into the box from Megan Bell causes havoc in the Bosnia box.

The ball eventually falls to Magill just a couple of yards from goal, but she can't sort her feet out and her low effort is smothered by Envera Hasanbegovic before the home side clear.

This has already been more exciting than the entire 90 minutes at Windsor Park on Friday.

Both teams are wanting to have a proper go early doors. We'll see how long that approach can last in the heat.

The hosts are flying into challenges, trying to rattle the Northern Irish midfield. They're standing firm so far.

After an open start to the game it has been rather scrappy in the last five minutes as Northern Ireland try to get a foothold.

  9. 'Northern Ireland must stay switched on'published at 14:37 British Summer Time 9 April

    Bosnia-Herzegovina 0-0 Northern Ireland

    Ashley Hutton
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC iPlayer

Obviously our goalkeeper is making the first real save of the game and it's important Northern Ireland stay switched on during the first five minutes and don't concede an early goal.

  10. Postpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 9 April

    Bosnia-Herzegovina 0-0 Northern Ireland

It has been a nervy start for Northern Ireland, who have failed to find their rhythm in these early stages and have been sloppy in possession.

    Bosnia-Herzegovina 0-0 Northern Ireland

An early worry now for Northern Ireland with Chloe McCarron down.

Northern Ireland have to be more creative in the final third and I think we have made positives changes with the likes of Keri Halliday and Emily Wilson. Those players can unlock defences and that's what we have to do.

    Fun fair in Zenica

The ground, based at BIH headquarters, is nestled in the hills above the small city of Zenica, which is about an hour away from capital Sarajevo.

There's a fun fair on the 20-minute walk from the hotel to the stadium and Northern Ireland will be looking to put on a thriller after a bit of a rollercoaster ride over the past eight months.

It's been a disprupted week with Tanya Oxtoby's illness, but can Northern Ireland pull off a big result and get their campaign back on track? Only time will tell.

Also, what a day for Keri Halliday on her first start. She's tipped for a big future and it's a big day for her and her family.

Burns' previous cap came against Italy in December 2022 after injuring her Achilles in April 2023.

She started and kept a clean sheet in Northern Ireland's goalless draw with Malta in their opening Euro 2025 qualifier last Friday.
