    • Eriksen arrives at Old Traffordpublished at 16:32 British Summer Time 8 May

Man Utd v Athletic Bilbao (20:00 BST)

      Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter

Christian Eriksen was the only minor doubt for Manchester United tonight because the veteran Denmark midfielder missed training yesterday.

United officials stressed Eriksen would be fit for tonight's game and it seems they were right.

Eriksen has been pictured arriving at Old Trafford with fellow Scandinavian Victor Lindelof ahead of the Europa League semi-final second-leg with Athletic Bilbao.

    • Value of Chelsea's squad dwarfs Djurgarden'spublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 8 May

      Chelsea v Djurgarden (20:00 BST)

      Chelsea

According to Transfermarkt,, external Chelsea's squad is worth 44 times more than Djurgarden's, while Transferroom,, external which acts as a platform for clubs to sign players, values Chelsea's squad at the same level as all 35 other clubs that featured in the Conference League's league phase combined.

Djurgarden are 11th in the Swedish top flight and draw 1-1 at home to AIK on Sunday, but 6,000 fans are expected to travel to London for tonight's game at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, who is expected to start, said: "We will take it as seriously as any other games. It's the semi-final of a European competition and we want to be in the final.

"I don't think any of us think this is done yet. We have 90 minutes left to play. We're going to give it our all and we want to win this game as well."

    • 'European trophy would prove Chelsea are back'published at 16:26 British Summer Time 8 May

      Chelsea v Djurgarden (20:00 BST)

      Chelsea

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca says the club can make a statement and prove they are "back" by winning the Conference League.

Asked whether winning a trophy, albeit Uefa's third-tier European competition, would be enough to say Chelsea are back, Maresca said: "Yes, for me, winning a trophy, the Conference League, is a statement to say Chelsea is back.

"Because, firstly, you win a trophy and then, if Real Madrid or different clubs didn't play the Conference League, it's because the Conference League is not the level they were at.

"If we play in the Conference League, it's because that's where we are - we need to start from there.

"It's the only trophy that Chelsea didn't win in the past and Chelsea can become the first club in Europe to win all the European competitions, so it's also good for the club.

"From there we will try to win the semi and final. It is a good place to start to build a winners' mentality to win games and trophies.

"In the future we hope we can be in different competitions but at the moment the reality is the reality."

As a Chelsea fan I know first hand how winning trophies isn’t about being the best. We weren’t the best in either of our UCL winning campaigns but when it mattered we won. Also, we didn’t have a manager that talked the talk like a certain Arteta.

    • Home defeat by Legia 'should help' Bluespublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 8 May

      Chelsea v Djurgarden (20:00 BST)

      Chelsea

Chelsea won the first leg 4-1 in Sweden so have a three-goal advantage after the away leg, just as they did in the last round (3-0 against Legia Warsaw).

The Polish side then won at Stamford Bridge but their 2-1 victory was not even to pull off a shock turnaround.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said: "That experience is hopefully going to help all of us. We will try to do our job tomorrow, play a good game, try to win again and continue to build momentum."

The Blues have been favourites to win the Conference League for much of the season and Maresca added: "When you join a competition or you're in a game where you're under pressure to win, it's not the same. You have to do the job and the most important thing is also to convince the players that there are no easy games. Any game can be tricky."

    • Chelsea team news - Guiu 'close' to Blues returnpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 8 May

      Chelsea v Djurgarden (20:00 BST)

      Chelsea

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca reported no new injury problems when speaking to the media on Wednesday.

He said that Marc Guiu is "very close to being back" but that the Spanish forward may benefit from more training sessions before returning to action.

I remember the years that United fans (my brothers included) would call the Europa League the 'Mickey Mouse' cup and would rather not be in it as it would be too embarrassing. How times have changed that it's now being used to claim that United would have had a better season than Arsenal. Yes, a trophy is a trophy, congratulations. But I doubt any Arsenal fan/player/coach would swap the league position and CL semi final for what Man Utd, Tottenham or Chelsea are going through.

    • United just need to get over the line this evening - Onuohapublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 8 May

Man Utd v Athletic Club (20:00 BST)

      Nedum Onuoha
      Former Manchester City defender

With the way that Manchester United have been this season domestically, you could see a world whereby this second leg against Athletic Bilbao does not go the way they want.

But in Europe, United's record has been very different.

I do not feel United play differently in Europe - it is just the kind of teams they are facing. In the Premier League, sides have shown they have got the number of this version of United.

I am a believer that United have got enough professionalism within that squad and can make the stadium as hostile as they need to be to be able to get through. They have got plenty of whatever they need to be able to make it to the final.

It does not need to be beautiful - it just needs to finish with them getting a chance to play for the Europa League trophy.

I have been a Manchester United supporter since 1960. If ever a Man Utd team is capable of shipping four goals at Old Trafford, then this one is. I hope and pray that I'm wrong. Tottenham's game is not a foregone conclusion either. I hope all three English teams get to their finals.

Man Utd v Athletic Club (20:00 BST)

Athletic Club manager Ernesto ValverdeImage source, Getty Images

Athletic Club boss Ernesto Valverde speaking on Wednesday about the injuries to brothers Nico and Inaki Williams, as well as top scorer Oihan Sancet:

"I am focusing on those players that are going to be doing a job for us tomorrow.

"There's no point thinking about the ones who aren't here. We know we've got some key injuries, but it's about the ones who are on the field.

"It's not going to be easy. We know it's tough because the result is pretty much against us. We also know how high quality our opponents are and their stadium, but this is football. Anything can happen.

"That's what we always hope for, and we're hoping for the best, like we always do."

Man Utd v Athletic Club (20:00 BST)

      Manchester United

Manchester United have scored 31 goals in this season's Europa League – more than any other side.

Only in 2002-03 (32) and 2020-21 (34) have they ever scored more in a single campaign in major European competition.

Man Utd v Athletic Club (20:00 BST)

      Manchester United

Amorim also added that Ayden Heaven and Toby Collyer will not be involved for United tonight.

The Red Devils go into the game with a 3-0 advantage from the first leg.

      Thanks Ben.

Well, my mother always said I'm number one.

No aggro planned here, I come in peace. And Manchester United fans will be hoping for a chilled evening tonight.

The optimists are flooding in now!

      Believe, guys!

But on the note of Man Utd, it's about time we shifted attention to them - and I'll leave you in the capable hands of Ben 2 for exactly that.

That's not his official title and he was here long before me so probably should be Ben 1 but anyway - I digress!

I'm off - enjoy the rest of the live without the aggro etc.

    • 'It will be a new world for the Tottenham players'published at 15:52 British Summer Time 8 May

      Bodo/Glimt v Tottenham (20:00 BST)

      Nick Mashiter
BBC Sport football news reporter in Bodo

Bodo/Glimt record scorer Stig Johansen believes Tottenham are in for a shock in their Europa League semi-final second leg.

Former Norway striker Johansen, who is one of Bodo's all-time top goalscorers and also had a brief spell at Southampton in 1997-98, expects the hosts and their plastic pitch to make life uncomfortable for Spurs.

"Tottenham are going to get a real surprise, I hope," he told BBC Sport in Norway.

"They will find it difficult. Tottenham may start well but they will struggle afterwards. Bodo/Glimt are very fit and if you don't get into the duels close - Tottenham players are stronger than us - on that pitch, I don't think they are going to catch up.

"Stay away from one to ones because physically Tottenham are stronger.

"We have to score very quickly, in the first 20, and then we go from there. What are Tottenham doing? Are they up to the challenge?

"It's fun to say - are Tottenham up to the challenge at Bodo/Glimt? But Bodo are so good at home. It will be a new world for the Tottenham players. We have seen a lot of teams come to Bodo and it seems they are playing in our division.

      "Good luck to Tottenham."

I ask because I don't think you're on your own.

A Tottenham supporting friend of mine - who I shall not name - is very nervous about tonight's fixture.
