Now, now. That's Aly's story to share and only if he wants to, he has our number.

I imagine there were many other reasons behind it, and the Liverpool pettiness was a nice bonus.

Everton v Liverpool (Wed, 19:30 GMT)

The fixture list is jam-packed. Ludicrously, Liverpool play five Premier League matches before March.

And this is when the title will be won or lost.

Currently, his first XI is entirely fit - barring Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is touch and go for the Merseyside derby on Wednesday.

This time last year, Jurgen Klopp was battling a mountain of injuries that eventually became unsustainable and led to the season collapsing.

But under Arne Slot, Liverpool are more available and have actually run less than any other side in the division.

And while the squad players let themselves down at Plymouth, Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Mo Salah stayed on Merseyside and got a much-needed rest.

If Liverpool beat Everton, it will have been the right decision.

'Everton have to find someone who scores goals'published at 11:03 Greenwich Mean Time

Andy Jones: Morning Phil. Do you think that Everton will need to strengthen all over the pitch in the summer or are there a few areas that urgently need strengthening instead of the whole pitch?

Hi Andy. I actually do think they need to strengthen in all areas – apart from goalkeeper where they have Jordan Pickford – but one stands out in particular.

Everton have to find someone who scores goals. It is as simple as that.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been too injury prone and his contract is up at the end of the season, while Beto has been unconvincing.

I think it will be a really interesting summer at Everton as they try to reshape what is an average squad ahead of the move to a new stadium under new owners, who will want to use the summer market to show their ambitions and use some financial muscle.

Oh these are all so petty, we love them so much!

Now, just a reminder of what's coming up... BBC Sport's Phil McNulty is answering your questions, so keep them coming in. We've also got an Everton press conference from 13:30 GMT.

Earlier, Arne Slot spoke to the media and said Joe Gomez is out of the Merseyside derby but Trent Alexander-Arnold could play.

I won’t wear any red item for Manchester City fan reasons. Never have, never will!

    Chris, Manchester

Back when Man City supporters were at their lowest ebb, I had a colleague who wouldn't wear anything red, or buy a red car, or have a Vodafone mobile and previously had avoided all Sharp products. Bitter, bitter blues!

Hello all. Ref the #bbcfootball debate that Chris from Tilbury started. I still think the Sega Dreamcast failed because they sponsored Arsenal back in the day. Such a poor decision.

Wednesday's match will be David Moyes' 43rd time coming up against Liverpool as a manager - and it's fair to say that his record isn't brilliant.

Of the previous 42, he was won just six, drawn 10 and lost 26.

The better news for Everton is that all of those victories have come in home matches and four of them were in Moyes' first stint as the Blues' boss.

'It was a really poor mistake by the official'published at 10:41 Greenwich Mean Time

    Phil McNulty Q&A

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Martin: Morning Phil. What did you make of the VAR-less FA Cup this weekend? Whilst there were some human errors that VAR would have corrected (Maguire offside for United's winner for example), was it better having all decisions made in the stadium and instantly?

Hi Martin. You may know I have become disaffected by VAR, but clearly it would have ruled out Harry Maguire’s goal. I actually did not think you needed VAR for that. It was a really poor mistake by the official.

It would also have given us a definitive ruling on whether Joe Willock’s shot had crossed the line in Newcastle United’s win at Birmingham City. I must confess I was not convinced at all that it had.

So, swings and roundabouts, but those two decisions did actually make a case for VAR against those who have become sceptical about it – like me!

'Magnificent results' for Plymouth and Queen’s Parkpublished at 10:33 Greenwich Mean Time

    Phil McNulty Q&A

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

Matt, Dubai: Which was the bigger cup upset at the weekend, Phil - Liverpool losing to Plymouth or Rangers getting beaten by Queen’s Park?

Morning, Matt. I’m going to call it a dead heat – but if pushed, Queen’s Park winning at Ibrox might just edge it because Plymouth had fantastic home support against virtually a second string team.

What is beyond dispute is that they were magnificent results for both Plymouth and Queen’s Park, a real source of pride and joy.

I was lucky enough to be at Home Park and came away thinking that if someone can get it right at that club it could really take off. The potential there is huge. Smart stadium, a fantastic fanbase and a big catchment area. Maybe Miron Muslic can be that man.

Regarding the Real Madrid players @09:00 I think it might just be one of those subconscious things you do without thinking - like if you painted a fake hole on the ground most people would still walk around it.
