Chances at both ends as we come towards the end of this one.

It's Killie first, with the ball pinging around in the box and it's ultimately Marley Watkins who has the best swing at the ball, but it's blocked by some desperate Cercle defending.

The hosts pour forward and it's Abu Francis who fires at goal, just a yard or two wide.

St Mirren legend Tony Fitzpatrick tells BBC Scotland: "It's incredible. Everything starts with a dream but this is what St Mirren is all about. It's a special, special club.

"I'm delighted for the younger supporters because they've never experienced this before.

"It means everything. It's been a long time coming but I feel now the club is in the right direction. There will be many more nights like this I'm sure.

"It wasn't that long ago we were down the bottom of the division.

"This is just us scratching the surface of St Mirren. It's so exciting and I just see the club going from strength to strength."

A late flurry of Valur attacks are defended well by the home side just before the half-time whistle.

It was a first half that could've seen St Mirren well clear, but Stephen Robinson's side have just that Shaun Rooney header to show for their efforts in the opening 45 minutes.

A big second half coming up.

Kyle Vassell is the next into the referee's notebook as he elbows Hannes van der Bruggen in an aerial battle.

The Killie skipper has been roughing up the Cercle defenders throughout this tie.

  11. Lucky Denkey?published at 20:28 British Summer Time 1 August 2024

Cercle Bruges 1-0 Kilmarnock (agg 2-1)

Kevin Denkey is a lucky man. He lashes out at Matty Kennedy after a throw-in, kicking the winger in the back side.

There is VAR here at the Jan Breyder Stadium, but it's not intervening this time.

  14. CLOSE!published at 20:22 British Summer Time 1 August 2024

Cercle Bruges 1-0 Kilmarnock (agg 2-1)

Danny Armstrong wins a Kilmarnock free-kick as the visitors enjoy their best spell of the game.

It's taken quickly and Liam Donnelly fires a cross in, with Warleson getting a hand to it.

It almost drops to Stuart Findlay but the big man can't get a toe on it. He has a second swipe but that's blocked.

That should have been in the back of the net.

Cercle Bruges 1-0 Kilmarnock (agg 2-1)

How many chances are St Mirren going to pass up?

That's two in quick succession that can't find their way into the back of the net.

They could be out of sight.

St Mirren 1-0 Valur (agg 1-0)

Another opportunity for St Mirren goes begging.

A lovely ball in from Shaun Rooney finds the head of Jonah Ayunga who just can't direct his effort on target.

  19. MISSED PENALTYpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 1 August 2024

Cercle Bruges 1-0 Kilmarnock (agg 2-1)

    Saved!

Kevin Denkey stutters in the run-up and it's a poor penalty. Robby McCrorie goes to his right and he's always saving that.

Kilmarnock are still in the tie.

  20. PENALTY to Cercle!published at 20:11 British Summer Time 1 August 2024

Cercle Bruges 1-0 Kilmarnock (agg 2-1)

There's a VAR check in Belgium.

The ball is crossed in and nodded on to the arm of Kyle Vassell by Kevin Denkey.

It looks like Vassell is appealing for something and it hits him from less than a yard away.

And the referee points to the spot. That is desperately unlucky.
