Who should be in England's starting XI is certainly an interesting debate Tom, as is the wider squad selection for the Euros this summer.

Squad size is down to 23 again this year from 26 players in recent tournaments.

So who goes, who starts and who misses out?

Get in touch with us in the usual ways, and feel free to pose some of these questions to BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone, who will be hosting a Q&A on this page later this morning.

Foden starting for England shouldn’t be a question, should be first name on the team sheet, makes things happen, keeps going and never looks disinterested. Which as he is competing probably with Rashford is the exact opposite to Rashford this season.

  4. Man Utd still fighting for Champions League - Ten Hagpublished at 08:43 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

In case you missed it, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is refusing to give up on Champions League qualification even though his side are now 11 points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa with 11 games left.

New co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made getting into Europe's most glamorous competition a priority for the season.

But United's 3-1 defeat at Manchester City means they now need Villa to slip up badly, or for the Premier League to end up with five spots in the expanded competition.

Even then, United will need fifth-placed Tottenham to fail as Ange Postecoglou's side are six points clear, with a game in hand.

"It can be a quick turnaround," said Ten Hag. "We have to go into another final and try and get closer to them.

"It can be an advantage that fifth spot can also be a Champions League spot, so we have to go for it and win our games."

ETH needs time. Arteta’s Arsenal were similar in terms of results in his early stages. United very nearly won two trophies last season and while they’ve been less convincing this time around, I can’t think of a single game where ETH has been able to field his strongest XI. It probably will be top 5 for CL football next year so it remains a realistic aim. United clearly need to show improvement but some inconsistency is to be expected and ETH is still building his squad and clearing out the toxicity that he inherited.

Who can make this Utd side better? Into serious league contenders? I don't think Ratcliffe will be convinced it's Erik ten Hag and if the man he wants is available now, whoever that might be, then make the change. Do it now. Give them the rest of this season to assess his squad and get working on the targets for the summer. But if he does sack him, tell him to take Anthony and Amrabat with him for a start!!

Well that is a question Simon! Should Phil Foden now be guaranteed a starting place in Gareth Southgate's England side at the Euros this summer?

  9. Pep - Foden is the bestpublished at 08:23 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    BBC Sport

I asked Pep Guardiola last night whether Phil Foden was now moving into being one of the best players in the Premier League.

After all, there was a time when some wondered whether the Manchester City star would develop to his full capacity under the demanding former Barcelona coach.

Foden has scored 18 goals so far in the current campaign.

"Right now this season, he’s been the best so far," said Guardiola.

"I always had the feeling he would score goals. In training sessions, always I had the feeling but now he is winning games.

"To become a world class player you have to win games. He always had an incredible work ethic, it doesn’t matter what position he plays in, he lives to play football and now he is winning games."

Surely Foden has now, along with Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane amongst attacking players, assumed the status of starter for England at Euro 2024.

We mentioned Arsenal's match tonight earlier on, well the Express reports that Mikel Arteta has told his players they will need at least 90 points to win the Premier League title.

That would work out as at least 32 points from their remaining 12 games. Not much margin for error there.

There was, of course, another Premier League game on Sunday, as Bournemouth plunged Burnley into even deeper trouble with a 2-0 win at Turf Moor.

Justin Kluivert set the Cherries on their way with a powerful finish past James Trafford after poor defending.

Burnley responded strongly with Neto producing an outstanding save to keep out Jacob Bruun Larsen's free-kick while Vitinho headed a good chance over the bar.

Larsen also had a goalbound shot blocked by Adam Smith after Neto denied David Datro Fofana.

Josh Cullen's disallowed goal - ruled out for a foul in the build-up - only added to Burnley's sense of frustration, before Antoine Semenyo wrapped up the points with a deflected finish in the 88th minute.

Burnley are 11 points from safety with 11 games left.

Phil Foden did not just score two goals to win Sunday's Manchester derby, he grabbed the whole game by the scruff of the neck, writes Match of the Day 2 pundit Danny Murphy.

With Manchester City behind and wondering who was going to step up after Erling Haaland missed an absolute sitter, it was Foden who made the difference and changed the game in the second half.

His whole performance in City's 3-1 victory was outstanding. Physically he never seemed to tire, and overall he had the look of a player who is absolutely at the very top of his game.

Dying moments of a 1-2 game. Could probably use a midfielder who can do a defence-splitting pass. Got Christian Eriksen on the bench. What do you do? Send in the useless liability Sofyan Amrabat, of course. Makes Eric Djemba-Djemba look like Roy Keane and Michael Carrick rolled into one.

    NMP

When Man Utd win, they don't win particularly well, and when they lose, they tend to lose badly - 3 shots and 27% possession is ridiculous for side aiming for UCL! ETH's loss percentage is the highest of the permanent managers since Moyes and I can't see him at United next season unless they somehow manage to achieve Ratcliffe's aim of UCL qualification, which seems like a semi-realistic aim, but in reality is just a standard that probably won't be achieved in order to justify a sacking.

Pep Guardiola hailed Phil Foden as the "best player in the Premier League right now" after his second-half double ensured Manchester City came from behind to beat Manchester United at Etihad Stadium.

In a game packed with international stars, it was two local boys who provided the key moments.

The visitors had led through Marcus Rashford's sensational eighth-minute strike from 30 yards.

However, in a contest City dominated, Foden took centre stage, with two-second half goals before Erling Haaland scored a late third to seal victory.
