Bryn Morris and Bobby Kamwa both scored hat-tricks as Newport County ended their six-game winless run in League Two with an emphatic 6-3 victory over MK Dons.

Morris won possession high up the pitch before curling beyond Tom McGill via the crossbar to net his first goal of the season in the 12th minute.

The midfielder bagged his second of the game just four minutes later as he tucked home from close range to double the Exiles' lead.

Newport were 3-0 up midway through the first half as Luke Jephcott picked out Kamwa who slotted beyond McGill for his second goal of the campaign.

A dream opening half got even better for Nelson Jardim's side nine minutes before the break, when Morris scored from the penalty spot to complete his hat-trick after Luke Offord was penalised for a handball.

Offord pulled a goal back for the visitors on the stroke of half-time, although Kamwa scored his second of the afternoon two minutes after the break.

Joe White and Offord netted in quick succession to give Scott Lindsey's side faint hope, but Kamwa completed his hat-trick on 81 minutes as Newport stretched their unbeaten league run to five games.

Newport sit 16th but move within five points of the play-off places.

Defeat sees MK Dons - who are the only League Two team yet to keep an away clean sheet this season - slip to ninth, one point behind seventh-placed Grimsby Town.

Newport County head coach Nelson Jardim:

"I would like to start by thanking the players and the fans. When you see football the way that football should be played, this afternoon happens.

"You try to play in a positive manner then it's a very entertaining afternoon with a lot of goals, it's what the fans like.

"I will work every day to make sure that when the fans come here, they enjoy their afternoons and that they're proud of their club, the players and their city as well."
