The beautiful bowl of the Stuttgart Arena is all quiet just now with three hours to go until kick off.

It holds just over 50,000 and will be predominantly filled with German fans but I can tell you there was a mighty large and noisy Hungarian contingent making its way in from the Hauptbahnhof (main station).

What result here do Scotland want before they take on the Swiss? Another big German win, to leave Hungary without a point and also with a goals deficit? Or would you want a Hungary win coupled with a Scotland win so that the group’s all square with be game to play ?

Should be great here tonight... and it’s live on Sportsound on BBC Radio Scotland from 17.30

Of course, before tonight's action at Cologne Stadium there are other matches to be played - including one as we speak with Croatia v Albania in Group B... where Albania have just taken a surprise lead.

  4. Time to do our talking on the pitch, says Clarkepublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 19 June

Steve Clarke says he wants his side to do their talking on the park against Switzerland.

The post-mortem following the opening game defeat has dominated discussions since the weekend, but Clarke says his side are focused on tonight's match instead.

"The objective is clear but the opponent is difficult," he told BBC Sport.

"We didn't start well so we've got a lot to prove. I think we're better this time not to speak too much and to put the action in on the pitch."

Switzerland, fresh off their 3-1 win over Hungary, will prove a different challenge to Scotland than the Germans opening the tournament in front of their own support - but Clarke still expects a stiff test from tonight's opposition.

"They're a difficult opponent, strong in the centre of the park," he said.

"I think collectively they're strong, theyve a good base up front. we're going to have to defend well, certainly better than we did the other night."

It's safe to say the Tartan Army are out in force in Cologne, despite horrendous weather in the last couple of days which closed the fan parks. But since when has a wee drop of rain ever deterred the Scotland support from enjoying themselves..?
