The Linfield players right from the first whistle, you could tell that they were on it and you could tell they started with a purpose. Well-drilled by the manager and really up for it.

Although the stats would have told you this was a foregone conclusion that Linfield would win this tonight, let me tell you that David Healy would have been making them well aware that stats are there to be broken and records are there to be broken. Obviously he wanted them to start on the front foot and they done that.

  20. 'The game was over as a contest at half-time'published at 21:33 British Summer Time 20 August

    Glenavon 0-3 Linfield

    Liam Beckett
    Sportsound summariser

The game was over as a contest at half-time.

I think Glenavon will be happy to keep the score-line at three and likewise Linfield content with three points and they'll be hoping for a clean sheet.

They would have taken that before the game I think if it had been offered.
