  2. PSG and Enrique relaxed before second semi-final legpublished at 16:05 7 May

    Paris Saint-Germain v Borussia Dortmund (20:00 BST)

The Champions League semi-finals are back tonight, with Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund kicking things off at 20:00 BST.

Dortmund have a 1-0 lead after the first leg, but it's the French club who have home advantage second time around.

Niclas Fullkrug's first-half strike separated the two teams at Signal Iduna Park last week, but PSG boss Luis Enrique says their entire focus is on winning outright and forgetting the aggregate score.

"The aim isn't to win by two goals, but to win," said Enrique.

"If you think you have to score two goals that seems like a big target.

"We just want to play and score. If we score in the 89th minute, it will carry on. We don't need to score right away, we just want to win the game."

I think West Ham's players have been aware the manager is probably leaving. I'm not saying the players have downed tools. But sub-consciously it's just not quite the same because the manager is not going to be there next season.

I think sub-consciously players switch off. I don't think it has been helpful the fact David Moyes has been messed around by the owners. I think it has had a knock-on effect.

Utterly ridiculous decision by Hull City to sack the manager. They've really been building something and now they have to start again (again).

  5. 'Our visions for the future are not aligned'published at 15:50 7 May

Hull City chairman and owner Acun Ilıcalı said: “This has been the most difficult decision I have had to make as chairman of this wonderful football club. No matter how trying the circumstance, I have to remove personal sentiment from these moments and ensure the long-term vision of the club is at the centre of my thinking.

“Since Liam’s arrival, we have enjoyed an open working relationship and progress has undoubtedly been made over the course of his tenure. He will always be a part of this family and I thank him for all his work.

“However, it has become evident that our visions for the future are not aligned and I feel that now is the time to make a change. Our philosophy is clear, we will continue to drive this club forward, and whilst doing so I will continue to be open and transparent with our fans."

Hull City had a strong start to the season under Rosenior and looked set for a play-off spot before falling away towards the end of the campaign.

Assistant coaches, Justin Walker and Ben Warner have also left the club.

Hull City have sacked manager Liam Rosenior, despite him being shortlisted for the Championship's manager of the season award.

Hull just missed out on a play-off spot, finishing seventh and three points behind Norwich City in sixth.

Their play-off hopes were spoiled by Plymouth Argyle in the last game of the campaign, who secured their Championship status with the victory.

The 39-year-old took over the club in 2022 and in December last year, he signed a three-year contract extension.

The owners have got sucked in to the fact that there is a section of the fanbase who are entitled and they want fantasy football. That's the long and the short of it. To an extent, every football fan now wants this Pep [Guardiola] brand of football. It's not realistic. I just think it could have been handled better and he could have been shown more respect.

I just think they may have got this badly wrong and there will be West Ham fans expecting the world next season, expecting them to push on, expecting them to be more expansive and I'd be surprised if it's any better than it has been under David Moyes.

  8. Moyes exit seems harsh for neutral observerspublished at 15:35 7 May

At times this season for West Ham boss David Moyes, it has felt like one long goodbye.

With his contract running out this summer, the stay-or-go narrative has now ended with the news that he will leave the club at the end of the seasonwith former Spain, Real Madrid and Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui set to take over.

On Saturday, the 61-year-old Scot will get a chance to acknowledge the fans who have been with him on a remarkable journey at West Ham that took them from the relegation zone during the Covid-enforced break, to glory and silverware on a never-to-be-forgotten night in Prague.

For many neutral observers, it seems harsh. Even now, after a dreadful run post-Christmas, where heavy defeats by Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Chelsea have contributed to a joint-record highest goals conceded (70) in a Premier League season for the Hammers, they are still on track to secure a top-10 finish.

It would be Moyes' third in four and a half seasons. No West Ham manager has achieved that since Harry Redknapp over two decades ago.

But modern-day football is a brutal business.

Elsewhere in London - aside to Crystal Palace's form and Thiago Silva's exit from Chelsea - there has been a fair bit of turbulence at West Ham.

Manager David Moyes will leave West Ham at the end of the Premier League season, the club have confirmed.

It comes after BBC Sport's Guillem Balague reported earlier on Monday that former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui had agreed a deal to replace Moyes.

Moyes, 61, had come under increasing pressure after a poor run of results, including Sunday’s 5-0 defeat by Chelsea.

"I have enjoyed four and a half brilliant years at West Ham, and the club is in a stronger position than when I returned back in 2019,” Moyes said.

Chelsea have allowed him to train with Fluminense before his official transfer date of 1 July, having signed a two-year deal.

Scotland international Lewis Ferguson has been presented with the Bulgarelli Number 8 Award, given to the best midfielder in Serie A for the season.

Previous winners of the award include Daniele De Rossi, Nicolo Barella and Sandro Tonali.

The 24-year-old will miss this summer's European Championships in Germany having undergone surgery.

It's funny seeing people saying Michael Olise passed his 'audition' for Manchester United last night. I think any Crystal Palace fan could tell you it was the other way round; that was United's audition and Olise saw everything he needed to see.

The 4-0 loss for United was off the back of all this talk about the entire squad being up for sale. That’s not going to do any good to player mentality. Sure, they could play to prove their worth, but it’s yet another example of poor management and running of the club.

Crystal Palace are now unbeaten in their past five Premier League matches, with a 5-2 thrashing of West Ham and last night's 4-0 demolition of Manchester United the highlights.

Oliver Glasner has turned things around brilliantly for Palace after the departure of Roy Hodgson in February.

January signings Adam Wharton and Daniel Munoz have made a significant impact, while Glasner has also succeeded in getting the best out of 22-year-old Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta is also on a stunning scoring run.

In his last 13 Premier League starts for Crystal Palace, Michael Olise has been involved in 14 goals (9 goals, 5 assists), scoring in five of his last seven starts in the competition.

And since Oliver Glasner’s first Premier League game in charge of Crystal Palace (24th February), only Cole Palmer (11) and Alexander Isak (10) have scored more goals in the competition than Jean-Philippe Mateta (9). He’s now scored in each of his last six home league games (8 goals), after netting only five goals in his first 37 such games in the competition.

Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham has given an interview with Uefa, external ahead of their semi-final second leg with Bayern Munich where he has told a nice tale about how he settled on his shirt number at the Bernaebu.

“My dad always wore a Real Madrid shirt at home with [Zinedine] Zidane's number 5 on it. It's funny because the story has flipped and he gave it to me as a present when I signed in the summer," the England midfielder said.

"I used to ask him who the player on the shirt was and he told me that when I grew up we'd see it on YouTube. Now that I'm wearing the number 5, it's a great story.”

Last night's performance was one of Crystal Palace's best this season. Oliver Glasner had turned us around in some style. We were sharp, focused, hungry and intense from the opening whistle. If we can hold on to Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise in the transfer window and add some new players, then the sky is the limit.

  20. Everton group call for end to takeover 'farce'published at 14:28 7 May

    Shamoon Hafez
    BBC Sport football news reporter

The Everton Shareholders' Association (EFCSA) has called for an end to the "farce" of the protracted takeover by 777 Partners amid the ongoing uncertainty in completing the deal.

Miami-based investment firm 777 agreed to buy majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri's 94% stake in the club in September, but the deal remains in limbo as it is yet to be ratified by the Premier League.

Everton's debts continue to mount and it is still not known whether 777 will pass the owners' and directors' test.

"We have observed with concern and frustration as it became increasingly clear that a fit-for-purpose process cannot possibly take this long as the Premier League continues to demonstrate their ability to regulate," the EFCSA said in a statement., external

"In the absence of the Premier League making a timely decision we insist that the Everton board and Farhad Moshiri in particular, stop this damaging process now and recognise that 777 Partners are not at this time fit and proper prospective owners of Everton Football Club."

BBC Sport has contacted Moshiri for comment.
