Goals in each half from Ashley Fletcher and Olly Casey secured Blackpool's first win at the LNER Arena for 27 years as they won 2-0 at Lincoln.

The Imps were brought crashing down to earth following their 5-1 victory over Peterborough at the weekend, and despite having nearly 20 shots at goal, they failed to breach the Tangerines' solid rearguard.

Sonny Carey tested Zach Jeacock after just 27 seconds, with the Imps goalkeeper getting down low to push his 20-yard shot to safety.

Fletcher nodded Tom Bloxham's cross narrowly wide before home striker Freddie Draper tested Harry Tyrer from a tight angle, with Jeacock again keeping out a Carey effort from range in what was a lively start.

Blackpool then took the lead in the 32nd minute when a simple ball through the City backline was not cut out, leaving Fletcher with a clean run on goal and he deftly dinked his effort over the advancing Jeacock into the net.

The Tangerines doubled their lead after 58 minutes when a corner into City's box caused havoc and in the ensuing melee, Casey stabbed the ball home.

Elkan Baggott got a crucial block in to Bayliss an instant reply and then Jeacock punched away a Bloxham effort, before producing a wonder save to deny CJ Hamilton.

Imps substitute James Collins blazed high and wide, headed Ethan Erhahon's cross off target, before being denied by a brilliant one-handed save by Tyrer. And when he did find the net, he was flagged offside.
