West Ham are really struggling to break the Brighton press and giving the ball away in their own half.

You don't want to be giving up too much possession and opportunity in the deeper spaces.

Erin Cuthbert wins the ball 40 yards out from the Leicester goal and has the space to drive forwards. She unleashes a powerful strike from 25 yards out but Janina Leitzig does well, diving to her left to parry the shot away from goal.

Brighton have had some very good opportunities, they will be a little bit disappointed that they haven't taken the lead yet.

Fran Kirby is just creating little overloads in those spaces and making things tick for Brighton in the final third.

She is really trying to draw West Ham out.

Aggie Beever-Jones has a goal and nearly gets an assist too. She does superbly down the left wing and has the speed and skill to run at the away defence.

Chelsea have a three-on-three chance and it is played right to Ellie Carpenter and she shoots at goal, but only straight into the hands of Janina Leitzig.

Brighton are getting good numbers in the box so you can see it is a feature of their play, looking to get bodies in the box and be able to deliver but it was over played a little bit and well defended in the end.

Close! Marisa Olislagers swings a cross in and it reaches Charlie Rule in the middle, but her header goes narrowly wide of the far post.

Brighton are looking to get the best out of Kiko Seike when they go forwards.

She drives into the West Ham half and slides the ball out to Charlie Rule, but her pass back towards the middle is too heavy and goes out.

An early booking for Leicester's French defender Julie Thibaud after a mistimed challenge and she is going to have to be very careful for a long time now.

You would expect Brighton to finish that one off and they should really be 1-0 up.

Chelsea have scored in their last 33 Women's Super League games and have avoided defeat in their last 24 matches when doing so, since a 3-4 loss to Liverpool on 1 May, 2024.

Michelle Agyemang meets a cross in the box and nods towards goal but Kinga Szemik gets to it.

Agyemang follows up on the rebound but the West Ham keeper is also first to that.

It's a wonderful touch. How well does Aggie Beever-Jones do there? She's got a lot of time to think about this, she takes her time, and rifles into the top of the net.

That passage of play shows how devastating Chelsea are. At the first time of asking, the ball's in the back of the net. That's the difference between these two teams.

Another good opportunity down the left for West Ham. Viviane Asseyi looks to work the ball towards Shekeira Martinez but the delivery lacks the right execution.

Michelle Agyemang gets back towards her own box and attempts to work the ball up the pitch but ends up breathing a sigh of relief.

Viviane Asseyi snatches the ball and gets a shot away but it takes a deflection and goes behind.

A really positive start from Leicester. They're playing higher up the pitch than I expected.

Some teams come here and they're beat before they even get off the bus.

You have to come to Kingsmeadow believing you can cause Chelsea a problem.

It's been an open start to this one. Viviane Asseyi works herself into space on the left and sends a cross in towards Riko Ueki, but the West Ham forward can't get to it.

A tough first chance for Leicester but Julie Thibaud, sliding in at the back post, just can't get enough of a contact on a deep free-kick from Sam Tierney and the ball goes well wide of goal.

Aggie Beever-Jones tries to race on to a ball forwards but Leicester goalkeeper Janina Leitzig has a good starting position and is able to gather at the edge of her penalty area.

It came after a no-nonsense challenge from Chelsea captain Millie Bright, sliding in forcefully on Leicester's Sam Tierney, with the referee deciding it was hard but fair.
