  1. Will 'undervalued' Taylor's exit come back to 'haunt' Celtic?published at 13:17 2 July

We asked for your views on Greg Taylor's Celtic exit after the left-back departed to join Greek top-flight side PAOK.

Here's what some of you said:

Pat: It's a big mistake letting Greg go. While he did lack a bit of physicality in Europe, he made up for it with 100% contribution to the jersey. Hope he does fine in his new adventure, he will be missed.

Andy: Good luck to him. While he's always given 100%, he is a defensive liability. The majority of goals lost come from the left-hand side of the defence so in my opinion he's no great loss. We have strengthened with Kieran Tierney so just need cover for him. We also need a left centre-back as Liam Scales is a back-up at best.

Billy: Biggest mistake Celtic have made in 10 years - signing an injury-prone player who hasn't completed a season in six years to let the best left-back in Scotland go for nothing is criminal. This decision will haunt Celtic for the next five years.

Mark: Absolute travesty he's been allowed to leave. Tierney might be a great player but he's not reliable. Taylor played near enough every game, he should have been kept and assured a fair crack of the whip. Great wee player and totally undervalued by a huge portion of the so called fans. Thanks for everything Greg, you're a hell of a lot better than folk credit you for and were key to our dominance. Well played and good luck!

Paul: Greg was a great servant to the club. I'm sad to see him go. However, I think he's left due to the continued criticism from some fans. I wish him every success in the future. He's always welcome back to Paradise.

Colin: Real shame to see Greg go. He's been excellent for us. Often overlooked but always ended up proving to be the best player in his position. Peaked under Ange Postecoglou in an inverted role, which suited him and unlocked new possibilities for our attack. He will be missed by all, including those who still doubt him.

  2. Celtic getting 'top player' at exciting age in Tierneypublished at 10:37 2 July

Kieran Tierney & Brendan RodgersImage source, SNS

Manager Brendan Rodgers has reiterated that Celtic are "getting a top player back" at an exciting age in Kieran Tierney.

The Scotland defender has returned to Parkhead six years after his big-money move to the Premier League with Arsenal.

Despite injury troubles and a lack of game time in recent seasons, the left-back could be set to enter his peak years having just turned 28.

Rodgers says the fact Tierney and fellow returning player Ross Doohan have come through the Celtic academy is "so important" as they "understand the values" and help maintain "the culture that's created" at the club.

On Tierney specifically, Rodgers added: "I'm absolutely delighted. We're getting a top player back. Sometimes top players like that might come later on in their career.

"But we're getting Kieran at 28 years of age. I was with him during the summer so I know first hand how excited he is to be here."

In a statement, the Parkhead club said: "Over the past six years [Taylor] has been a key figure in the success that the club has enjoyed.

"Everyone at Celtic thanks Greg for everything he did for Celtic over the past six years and wish him and his family every success in the future."

The 19-year-old has signed a long-term deal and will join Mark Robson's under-21 development squad.

He made his senior debut for Brendan Rodgers' side at Aston Villa in the Champions League in January 2025.

"It feels amazing to join West Ham United, and it's a dream come true," said Cummings.

"When West Ham came calling, it was too good to say no, and I'm looking forward to getting started.

"Since day one, when Mark [Noble] was on the phone, he spoke so highly of everyone here and sold the club to me.

"I did a lot of research about the club and there's a pathway to the first team, and that's all you can ask for as a young player."

  9. Osmand on O'Riley advice & 'massive' Celtic movepublished at 14:49 30 June

    Callum OsmandImage source, Getty Images

New signing Callum Osmand has revealed the advice he received from former Celtic midfielder Matt O'Riley prior to sealing a "massive move" to Parkhead.

The teenage striker has penned a four-year deal with the Scottish Premiership champions, joining from Fulham.

The 19-year-old was a prolific scorer at youth team level with the Premier League side, but he is yet to play a game in senior football.

Osmand says the switch to Scotland is a "big step" for him, but fellow former Fulham player O'Riley, who left Celtic last summer in a big-money move to Brighton, has told the young forward what to can expect.

"[O'Riley] was telling me about how big the club is, how amazing the fans are and it's a new life really," the striker told Celtic TV.

"It feels unbelievable to be here and I'm so happy to be here. It is a big step for me and I'm excited to get going.

"It's a massive move and I can't wait to step out at Celtic Park in front of all the fans."

On what manager Brendan Rodgers expects of him, Osmand added: "When I spoke to the manager, he was really positive. The plan and pathway he has set out for the club is top, so it's exciting with the pathway he has for me.

"He has set out what he wants from me and it is all really positive, so I can't wait to get going now."

  10. 'No let-ups' for Celtic on their pre-season returnpublished at 10:57 30 June

    John KennedyImage source, SNS

Demands at Celtic will ensure "there are no let-ups" for the squad as they prepare for the new season with the "same hunger and desire" to be successful, says assistant coach John Kennedy.

Despite ending last term with a painful Scottish Cup final defeat to Aberdeen, Brendan Rodgers' men still finished the campaign with a Scottish Premiership title and League Cup trophy.

The Parkhead side also progressed to the knockout stage of the Champions League and ran Bayern Munich close before being eliminated from the competition by the German giants.

Reflecting on the past season, Kennedy told Celtic TV: "The guys were superb, they put everything in to it. We can look back on a lot of positives, take a lot from that and be positive going into this season again.

"It's good to reflect on that and come back in with the same hunger and desire to be successful again, because that's what the club demands, there are no let-ups."

Celtic are back in pre-season training and return to action on Friday when they make the short trip to face second-tier Queen's Park.

The Premiership champions also face Cork City, Sporting Lisbon, Newcastle and Ajax as part of their preparation for the new campaign.

Looking ahead to that schedule, Kennedy added: "Early on it's very much about the physical aspects, returning to our game model, our intensities, making sure we get all the work into the guys.

"We don't concentrate too much on the results, but in terms of how the players went through pre-season last year, the results, it naturally gives a bit of confidence.

"So you want that to be a part of the process, it's not absolutely vital you go in and win all the games, but there's no harm in it either."

  12. 'What's not to get excited about?' - your views on 'real deal' Nygrenpublished at 11:05 29 June

    Your views

We asked you for your views after Benjamin Nygren signed a five-year deal with Celtic.

Here's what some of you said:

Gordy: A good signing and hopefully just the start - we need cover all over the pitch.

Centre back, right and left-back cover is essential and a goal-scoring centre forward, while holding onto to what we have, unless a massive offer comes in that will help buy other players.

We need to show more ambition in the transfer market this season to be successful at home and in Europe.

Denis: Nygren scored a hat-trick against Fenerbahce in Europe, and is obviously a very good signing.

Mikey: What's not to get excited about? Another Scandinavian with a clear determination to advance his career and full of positivity.

I've seen him play for Sweden and he has bags of energy and drive. Almost looks like he's a mini Daizen, but let's not burden the boy with too much expectation.

Hugh: The signing of Nygren could turn out to be a very shrewd piece of business.

He appears to be a player on an upward path and with the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, we can hopefully continue his progression.

If we can get two/three good seasons out of him then we could end up with a £30m+ asset. Either way it certainly looks like £1.5m well spent.

Jason: Nygren looks like the real deal.

It's difficult to make one's mind up based on highlight reels, right enough. He is saying the right things in the media, regarding his winning mentality, his experience and what he thinks will be expected of him while wearing the hoops.

I just hope he has the longevity to do it season after season, on a cold wet Wednesday night in the north east of Scotland!

  14. McGregor 'ready to go' after extended summer breakpublished at 13:04 28 June

    Callum McGregorImage source, SNS

Celtic captain Callum McGregor admitted he might be a little "different" to most footballers, as he couldn't wait to get back for pre-season.

After retiring from international duty last summer, the 32-year-old did not have the extra workload of a Scotland camp after the end of a double-winning season.

"It's been a long summer - longer than what I am used to anyway," McGregor told club media. "But over the last few days, you're just eager to get back in and get back on it.

"You always have that excitement about what a new season can bring, with the opportunities and possibilities.

"It's nice to get away, refresh and take stock a little bit. Once you drive through the gate this morning, you are back to work, and the serious stuff starts now. We're looking forward to it!"

Brendan Rodgers' side now have pre-season friendly fixtures on the horizon, with Queen's Park and Cork City up first, and the captain is desperate to get back playing.

"I might be a little bit different - I quite enjoy pre-season! I was up at 7 o'clock this morning, ready to go and champing at the bit to get out the door.

"I think nowadays, pre-season the bedding in period is probably a little bit easier, like getting straight into running to be sick.

"The game has changed a little bit since then. It's the guys in the medical department who do all the screening to make sure everybody is okay.

"We had a light break-in session this afternoon, and then on Saturday the double sessions start. So, ask me again on Monday!"

"I'm an offensive-minded player but I also work hard and try to do my best in all parts of the game.

"I'm a very competitive person and this is something that I love about Celtic. It's a huge club and I love that. And, also, the winning mentality.

"I want to be with similar-minded people who also love to win.
