Hull City boss Ruben Selles has been speaking to BBC Radio Humberside about what he feels new signing striker Kyle Joseph can bring to the squad.

"I think Kyle is an excellent player," Selles said.

"He can run deep with us, he can be a better player - a player that is very difficult to play against.

"He can play as a striker, he can play in the two winger positions so, for us, we are happy to have him."

Joseph is the Tigers' fourth signing in January, joining midfielders Matt Crooks, Nordin Amrabat and forward Joe Gelhardt.

All three featured as substitutes in Hull's away victory over Millwall at the weekend - though the trip to London did come with a casualty.

Captain Lewie Coyle has been ruled out of Tuesday's game against QPR after suffering lacerations to his ankle.

However, the right-back is not expected to be out long-term and could possibly feature in the trip to Sheffield United on Friday.

Hull City host QPR as they attempt to climb up the table on Tuesday (19:45 GMT).

The Tigers found success against a London club last time out, taking a 1-0 victory in a visit to Millwall, while QPR scored once to beat basement side Plymouth Argyle.

Hull have a had a good run of results at the MKM Stadium under the charge of new boss Ruben Selles - and they will need that to continue as they hover one place above the relegation zone.

    • Hull have won each of their past two league games against QPR, scoring three goals in each match. The Tigers have not won three matches against the London club in succession since October 1963.

    • QPR have won two of their past 15 away league games against Hull (D7 L6), while they have not scored on each of their previous two league trips there.

    • Hull have lost one of their four home league games under Ruben Selles (W1 D2 L1), picking up as many points (5) as in their prior eight such games (W1 D2 L5).

    • QPR have won three of their past four midweek league games (W3 L1), having won one of their prior 18 (W1 D7 L10).

    • QPR's Ilias Chair has been involved in five goals in his past eight Football League games against Hull (4 goals, 1 assist), though all four of his goals against the Tigers have come in home games.

Victory against Millwall means Ruben Seles has guided his side out of the Championship relegation zone

Hull City boss Ruben Selles spoke to BBC Radio Humberside following his side's 1-0 win away against Millwall.

He said: "It's difficult always to come here and try to perform. We had some phases that we controlled the game and created situations when we should go in front.

"There were some situations where we didn't find the pass and ended up being under pressure, but overall I think it was a good performance.

"My team showed they can play in defensive scenarios and still be powerful, aggressive and win football matches.

"With the goal, Regan is a fantastic ball carrier, he attacked the space and we were in the situation where we had a runner at the first post, runner at the back post, another runner arriving, and every ball there either we'll score or it's very difficult to defend, and it went in."

MIllwall welcome Hull City to The Den on Saturday (15:00 GMT) seeking a first win in five, and a first under Alex Neil in the Championship.

The Lions are 14th and now 11 points adrift of the play-off places, with a seven-point gap to the third-bottom Tigers in the final relegation place.

The Tigers ended a five-match losing streak on their travels with a win last time out at Blackburn, while they pinched a point at home to Leeds in their most recent home game.

    • Millwall have failed to win any of their past five league games against Hull City (D3 L2), failing to score in four of those matches. The London outfit last endured a longer such run against the Tigers between January 1967 and January 1970 (six games).

    • Hull City have won just two of their 26 away league games against Millwall (D10 L14), drawing on five of their past six EFL visits to The Den (L1).

    • Millwall have won just one of their past 11 league games (D5 L5), though that did come at home to Blackburn in December; in fact, only Plymouth (100%) have seen a greater proportion of their total Championship wins this season come at home than the Lions (86% - 6/7).

    • Hull City have picked up eight points from their seven league games under manager Rubén Sellés (W2 D2 L3), more than across their 12 Championship matches prior (6 - W1 D3 L8).

    • Hull's Abu Kamara scored twice last time out against Leeds United, as many goals as he netted across his previous 32 league appearances for the Tigers and Portsmouth combined; he has never scored in back-to-back league outings

As is midfielder Gustavo Puerta following a knock at the end of the match on Saturday, while defender Matty Jacob has returned to training and may also make the trip.
