West Ham forward Danny Ings says he's enjoying working under new manager Julen Lopetegui as the Hammers prepare for the 2024-25 campaign.
After a summer break, West Ham's non-internationals have headed to Austria as part of their pre-season training camp.
“It’s been great [working under Lopetegui]," Ings told the club's webiste.
"You can see from day one that they are wanting to implement all of their stuff on the training pitch and it’s not just a case of getting your trainers on and going running. There is a lot of ball work and we’ve started tactical work already, so it has been a really good start and I think everyone is really excited for what lies ahead.
“I’ve really enjoyed the style he has implemented so far, but it is only early days and there is still a lot of time working together to come, but what I’ve seen so far has been fantastic and I think everyone thinks the same. It is a new learning curve for all of us and one we are looking forward to.”
Reflecting on his time at West Ham so far, Ings said: “I’ve found it quite difficult since I got here, but I’ve also loved every minute of it as we have got a really, really good group here.
“We won the Conference League together and had some really good experiences, but from a personal point of view, I want to put the shirt on as much as I can, I want to help the team and I want to show the fans what I really can do and what I am capable of.
“It’s a fresh slate for everyone and I have looked after myself throughout the summer and am looking forward to the challenge."
We asked for your views on West Ham United signing Max Kilman on a seven-year contract, which will see the defender reunite with his former manager Julen Lopetegui.
Here are some of your thoughts:
Joe: Being the Wolves captain must say something about his ability as a player and a leader, something that West Ham have lacked recently. I can see him being a solid signing for the back four. He reminds me of Craig Dawson in a way.
Jon: £40m is an absolute joke amount for him. If this is the type of business Tim Steidten is going to do, I think we have had it!
Adrian: We paid way too much for Kilman but I do think he could be a good addition - only time will tell. West Ham need a top-quality striker now. I hope they haven't spent all of their money on a centre-half.
Steve: If Kilman can regain the form he showed when he was on the brink of the England squad, he should be a positive addition to West Ham's backline. It is an area which does need strengthening.
Adam: It seems like a high transfer fee for a good but not exceptional player. He is on a seven-year contract as well, which seems excessive for a player of his age. Good luck to him, hopefully it works out for him and West Ham. It's great for Maidenhead!
Don: We will have to wait until the first game of the season to know how all of our new acquisitions will work together.
West Ham United have jetted off to Austria for a week-long training camp which is set to finish with a fixture against Hungarian side Ferencvaros on Monday, 15 July.
Julen Lopetegui has taken his squad to a training complex near the German border, with the club stating the players will be "put through their paces, with early starts and double sessions".
New signings Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and Max Kilman are all expected to be involved in the training camp, as well as several young players from the Under-21 development squad.
Lopetegui told the club website, external: "The demands are going to be very high.
"We know our start to the Premier League already and we have to take advantage in the pre-season. We have to work very hard to be able to be ready at the right moments to start at a high level and a competitive level.
"I can ensure that the players are ready to work very hard - this is for sure - and I think that they are going to enjoy it."
West Ham have unveiled their new away kit for the 2024-25 season, which takes inspiration from the club's East End origins.
The black shirt features "unmistakably east London elements", including a graphic of St Mary-le-Bow on the nape of the neck, and the traditional claret trim.
A club statement said: "The striking strip is a reflection of the club's community in the vibrant heart of London, celebrating the collective identity shared."

Max Kilman will leave a hole in the Wolves defence, having been integral to the side's resilience in recent years.
Kilman played every minute of all 38 Premier League games last season, with William Saliba of Arsenal the only other outfield player to achieve the feat.
However, now it will be West Ham who benefit from his reliability, his £40m move reuniting him with former Molineux boss Julen Lopetegui, who made him captain while Wolves head coach.
Wolves have plans in place and were prepared for this eventuality, though.
It is a huge fee for a 27-year-old who cost just £40,000 from Maidenhead in 2018 and represents a stunning deal for the club.
Ultimately, it was too good to turn down and helps fund deals already done for Rodrigo Gomes and Pedro Lima, while Wolves will be able to reinvest some of the cash for Kilman's replacement.
Gary O'Neil has his targets and Wolves will need a solution alongside the ever-dependable Craig Dawson.
It is not ideal but they still have five weeks to prepare, while there is a pre-season trip to Spain next week.
They could face an immediate reunion with Kilman in a friendly against the Hammers, as well as fixtures against Crystal Palace and RB Leipzig in the nited States.
West Ham completed the £40m signing of centre-back Max Kilman from Wolves over the weekend.
Kilman will reunite with his former boss in new Hammers manager Julen Lopetegui and is the third new face at London Stadium so far this summer after Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham.
Is it a good bit of business? Will he slot straight into the team?

West Ham have unveiled their new home shirt for the 2024-25 Premier League season.
The kit is inspired by the Hammers' glory era of the 1960s in which the club won major domestic and European silverware for the first time with the help of players such as Bobby Moore, Martin Peters, Geoff Hurst who were part of England's World Cup-winning team.
The 2024-25 season also marks the 60th anniversary of West Ham's European Cup Winners’ Cup triumph.
The new kit pays tribute to the 1960s' style with a round neck and claret detailing on the sleeve cuffs. It also features a new commemorative Umbro diamond logo to mark the British sportswear company’s 100th anniversary.
The club said: "This bold kit celebrates the memories of our past triumphs, all while showing the determination, spirit and style of the teams which won the FA Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup in consecutive seasons."

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten is promising a "busy" summer at the London Stadium.
The Hammers have already spent £25.5m on Brazilian wide-man Luis Guilherme and signed goalkeeper Wes Foderingham on a free transfer from Sheffield United.
In addition, first-team squad men Angelo Ogbonna, Ben Johnson and Divin Mubama have all left the club following the end of their contracts.
Now, with no Profit and Sustainability worries following Declan Rice's £105m move to Arsenal last year, work continues to further boost Julen Lopetegui's squad, which has already seen West Ham linked with Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters in a move that could see midfielder Flynn Downes return to the Saints.
"I am so glad I am here at the work the ownership did before," said Steidten. "In these times it is unique that we are quite relaxed about this situation.
"It will be a busy summer for all of us.
"I can’t name the number of signings. We know the positions we are looking for but it depends on the profile. I can’t give you a number."

After four and a half years of David Moyes holding court at London Stadium, it was interesting to see Julen Lopetegui sitting alongside Tim Steidten at Monday's unveiling news conference.
Steidten's appointment 12 months ago effectively spelled the end for Moyes' time at West Ham.
The Scot has never been a fan of working alongside a technical director as hands on as Steidten wants to be.
Clashes over recruitment eventually led to the German being barred from first-team areas, which was clearly an untenable situation.
Lopetegui and Steidten conversed easily and spoke about how often they would need to chat in what is planned to be a busy summer for the club.
Steidten says he is on the hunt for new talent: "England is our home ground. This market is our priority work, but we are not closing our eyes on other markets."
Lopetegui was practical in his assessment of the style he wants to implement: "I love attacking football but I also love counter-attacking."
How the pair mould their ideas together will provide the answer to those who question why West Ham have chosen to break up a model that brought three top 10 finishes and a European trophy.
It is a new era. Lopetegui is steering the ship now.

New West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui says there are "no limits" to his ambition for the club.
Lopetegui knew when he left Wolverhampton Wanderers on the eve of last season he wanted to stay in the Premier League.
It is why he remained in England for an extended period even as successor Gary O'Neil was making his mark at Molineux.
He underlined his determination to succeed in his unveiling news conference at London Stadium on Monday.
And he stressed he will not set targets for his new club - because he does not want to restrict them.
"There are no limits," he said. "We believe in ourselves.
"I always said [after leaving Wolves] my first thought was to remain in the Premier League.
"I have a lot of reasons to be here. I am in a big club - a London club with a big potential.
"We have a very good platform to be able to do one step and to make a big noise."

New West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui has spoken to the media for the first time since being confirmed as David Moyes' replacement.
Here are the main lines from his news conference:
On Lucas Paqueta, who has been charged with six counts of breaching the FA's betting regulations: "We know he and his family are suffering a lot in this moment but when I saw him smiling in the last match (for Brazil) that was good. We are also his family and we are going to take care of him. We are looking forward to seeing him with us."
On Edson Alvarez, who was injured on Copa America duty with Mexico: "We are crossing our fingers. We suffered a big injury with Edson. It is not good news because he is an important player."
Speaking about why he has moved to West Ham, Lopetegui said: "I have a lot of reasons to be here. I am in a big club, a London club with big potential. Look at the pitch, the stadium, the fans we have. The Premier League is the best in the world. It is the competition we want to compete in. We love to be here."
On succeeding Moyes, the Spaniard added: "David Moyes has done very good work here. But here we are. The fans want to win. We will win more if we play well with collective football. I love attacking football but I also love counter-attacking. We have to choose our way."
West Ham defender Ben Johnson says his "dreams were exceeded" when he was part of the side that won the Uefa Europa Conference League two years ago.
The 24-year-old, who came through the Hammers academy and made 109 senior appearances, has left the club at the expiration of his contract on 30 June.
In a message to fans on the club website, he said: "I have been blessed to have come through the Academy of Football and to play for the first team in the Premier League, domestic cups and in European competitions.
"I just want to be known and remembered for my time at West Ham for having played with a smile on my face and having really enjoyed my football. That's really important to me."
Johnson, who is the cousin of former England defenders Paul Parker and Ledley King, joined West Ham aged seven.
The full-back was part of the squad that won the Europa Conference League in 2023, which he described as his "most special memory".
He added: "To be involved in a European trophy win doesn't come around frequently, so to be around and be part of it, and to be able to achieve that with West Ham was incredible.
"My dreams were exceeded by what happened two seasons ago and I'm just so, so pleased I did it as a West Ham player. I'll never forget that night."

West Ham United winger Said Benrahma has completed a move to French side Olympique Lyonnais for a fee understood to be €14m (£11.9m).
The 28-year-old initially joined Lyon on loan in January 2024 and the Ligue 1 side have exercised an option to make the move permanent.
Benrahma, who signed for the Hammers from Brentford in October 2020, made 155 appearances for the club, scoring 24 goals and making 20 assists across all competitions.
The Algeria international also lifted the Uefa Europa Conference League trophy, having scored a penalty in West Ham's 2-1 final win over Fiorentina in June 2023.
The Hammers also confirmed on Sunday that Ben Johnson, who played 109 games for the side, and Divin Mubama, who featured 18 times, will leave the club upon the expiration of their contracts.
