Archive: The 1969 day Wales lost to Manchester United

On July 26, 1969 Wales hosted Manchester United in a one-off game to commemorate the investiture of the then Prince Charles as Prince of Wales, which had taken place at Caernarfon Castle on 1 July that year.

Manchester United's famous three of George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton - all winners of the Ballon d’Or - played in Bangor that day.

United would go on to win 2-0 despite a penalty miss from Law.
