  1. 'A strong result' - Verstappenpublished at 22:07 GMT 26 October

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished third, he said: "It was very hectic, the beginning of the race for me. We had a very good start but then it was such a long run to Turn One and we were on the outside and then Turn Three and Four wide.

"I had to be on that kerb, kept bottling out all the way so almost crashed over the grass and even after that there was a lot going on.

"Everyone around me was on soft tyres and I was on the medium and it looked like that was a bit of a struggle, so I was just surviving the first stint and going as long as I could on the tyres.

"Once we bolted on the softs I think we were a little bit more competitive. It has been a difficult weekend for us but to be fighting for P2 and with everything that happened in the first few laps, I think it is still a very strong result."

On the safety car: "I mean you win some, you lose some. Sometimes the safety car works for you and sometimes it works against you."

  2. 'The safety car saved me at the end'published at 22:02 GMT 26 October

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who finished second: "I mean very happy with this weekend. The state was very positive for us.

"We didn't know what to expect for this weekend, but to end up on the podium is a great surprise.

"Very happy to be on this amazing podium, once again.

"I was quite happy about the safety car at the end. My tyres were completely gone. I could see Max was coming back on the softer tyre, so it was tough, but the safety car saved me at the end."

McLaren's Lando Norris wins for the first time at the Mexico City Grand Prix, he said: "I didn't hear a thing you said but I love it, thank you guys. What a race, I could just keep my eyes forward and focus on what I was doing.

"A pretty straightforward race for me which is just what I was after. A good start, a good launch and a good first lap, and I could go from there."

On the start: "Just stay relaxed and get a good launch. That was the best thing and I think I got a much better launch than the guys around.

"This is awesome and unbelievable here, my first win here in Mexico and a beautiful one to win especially here in the stadium. A big thanks to all the fans."

On the momentum: "It's one weekend at a time, I'm happy and I'm focused on myself. I keep my head down and I keep to myself, it's working at the minute so I'm happy."

Great race and good to see Bearman get 4th, but Lewis was robbed with that 10 seconds when Charles & Max got nothing.

What happened with Max Verstappen under investigation for the turn one contact? He was off the track more than once and so was Leclerc at turn one. So unfair on Hamilton.

If this goes green again this could get very spicy if someone is late to the throttle. That has potentially ruined what could have been a really spicy last lap.

The virtual safety car is deployed because of Carlos Sainz's stricken car.

Has that scuppered both Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri's hopes of gaining one more place?
