It seems like Verstappen and that Red Bull doesn't have the pace compared to Lando Norris.

Verstappen didn't even both moving or trying to defend.

    Lap 13/52

The Sauber of Zhou Guanyu is into the pits to dump his soft tyres and bolt on a set of mediums.

Out on track, Charles Leclerc spots his target of Lance Stroll in a vulnerable position at Stowe. Mission complete. The Ferrari moves up into seventh place and is now chasing down his team-mate Carlos Sainz.

It's interesting that Max Verstappen has dropped two and a half seconds back from Lewis Hamilton.

He may be protecting his tyres trying to give them a bit more life but you wouldn't expect Verstappen to be dropping that much.

Lando Norris is told the team are going to keep their strategy "simple" if the rain arrives. Over at Red Bull, Max Verstappen is informed the wet stuff is heading Silverstone's way in five minutes.

The fastest laps are being banked consistently by race leader George Russell but the gap is still only 1.3 seconds to eight-time winner Lewis Hamilton.

When the [rain] comes it is going to stay and linger for a while because there is no movement in those clouds.

I wonder what the teams will do with their tyres, if there's rain in ten minutes time and it's only going to last for ten minutes.

Can you brave it on the slicks, can you get round or will they have to change to the intermediate tyre.

I'm waiting for the first pit-stops, we are expecting it around lap 16 if you started on the soft tyre and medium tyre is about lap 24.

By my calculations to make things more spicy, that should be exactly when the rain starts to fall so let's see what happens.

Andrew: Mercedes’ qualifying pace looks like it’s translated into genuine race pace around Silverstone. #bbcf1
