    Kevin Magnussen has picked off the one remaining Alpine of Esteban Ocon for 15th place. The Frenchman is struggling slightly on those soft tyres and has now fallen to 17th spot. Sergio Perez is trying to make some head way but is stuck in P16 in the second Red Bull.

    There are two Mercedes against one Red Bull so they can do a strategy mix to try and box Verstappen in and stop him getting ahead from both those cars.

    One can go short for example which might force Verstappen to respond and the other one can run long, and at least one of the Mercedes can stay ahead of the Red Bull.

    Verstappen has a double disadvantage because McLaren have two cars behind him as well and they can play the same sort of tactics with their cars.

    The rain is threatening around Stowe and the final corners of Vale and Club. Lance Stroll is on the Hagar Straight trying to out-smart the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc, who also has the Haas of Nico Hulkenberg chasing his Ferrari in ninth.

    The fastest lap of the race goes to leader George Russell, who is motoring ahead of Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Lando Norris.

    The other McLaren of Oscar Piastri is fifth and Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari is sixth. Charles Leclerc is back in the points in P8 and is now hunting down Lance Stroll for the Canadian's seventh spot.

    I can see that cloud really coming in close and when it rains here at Silverstone, it really does quickly, it can last for a long time or a short sharp shower.

    It looks like that contact for Alex Albon was caused by Nico Hulkenberg leaving the track and running into the path of the Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso when he rejoined the action. Unfortunately, Albon's Williams was in innocent bystander.

    Lance Stroll is up to sixth place from his original P8 starting position. Nico Hulkenberg is still inside the points in ninth place but has the other Aston Martin of Fernando Alonso on his rear wing.

    Alex Albon is carrying damage after making contact with Spaniard Alonso on the opening lap. Logan Sargeant can spot the issue with his team-mate's car from P13.

    DRS is now enabled and George Russell leads from his Mercedes buddy Lewis Hamilton. Lando Norris has settled himself as the cars head towards Copse corner but the Red Bull of Max Verstappen is pulling away from the McLaren.

    Hamilton is told by his engineer the rain is on the away in 25 minutes!
