Tyrone and Donegal reach Ulster Under-21 final

Tyrone will play Donegal in the Ulster Under-21 Championship final on 8 April.

In Wednesday night's semi-finals Tyrone beat neighbours Armagh 2-12 to 2-8 while Donegal easily overcame Monaghan by 4-9 to 1-5.

Goals in the first half from Jack O'Brien and Lorcan Connor saw Donegal earn a 2-5 to 0-2 interval lead.

Conor McCarthy pulled a goal back for Monaghan, but Donegal netted further goals from Ciaran Thompson and Connor, who punched home his second.

In the first half at Healy Park, Monaghan lost midfielder Conor Lavelle to a yellow/black card combination.

The game between Tyrone and Armagh was switched to Breffni Park in Cavan because of an unplayable pitch at Brewster Park.

First-half goals by Lee Brennan and Conor Meyler did the damage for the Red Hands who led by 2-6 to 1-1 at half-time.

Aidan Nugent's 14th-minute goal cancelled out Tyrone's three early points but the Red Hands hit two goals inside a five-minute spell from Brennan and a cheeky chip from Meyler after 21 minutes.

Armagh had to wait until Ciaran O'Hanlon's score early in the second half for their first point from play.

Armagh senior star Ethan Rafferty hit five frees before Tyrone 'keeper Sean Fox pulled off a superb diving save to his left to deny Ryan McShane.

Sub Jack Grugan scored an injury-time goal for Armagh.
