Down manager Jim McCorry is disappointed not to have a home draw in All-Ireland SFC qualifiers

Down manager Jim McCorry is disappointed the county has been drawn away from home again in this year's All-Ireland football qualifiers.

The county faces a trip to either Wexford or Westmeath in a first round tie on 27 June following their Ulster championship defeat by Derry on Sunday.

Down have only played nine of 26 back-door fixtures at home in Newry.

"We won't be doing the lottery any time soon after being drawn away again this year," said McCorry.

Down will be able to watch their opponents in action on Sunday, as they play the losers of the Leinster championship tie in Mullingar.

"Down have not had too many back-door games in Pairc Esler but it's knockout football now and we will prepare well for it," said the Mourne manager.

"We will have the benefit of watching our opposition playing live, but they'll be looking at videos of us as well so I'm not sure it's that much of an advantage."

Tyrone will take on Limerick at Healy Park in round one of the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers on 27 June.

Down have been drawn away to Wexford or Westmeath while the losers between Armagh and Donegal are home against Meath or Wicklow.

Qualifiers on 20 June include Cavan's meeting with London in Ruislip with fellow Ulster side Antrim away to Kildare or Laois.

The Reds Hands, who were beaten by Donegal in the Ulster SFC preliminary round, face tough opponents but home advantage could be key for Mickey Harte's team.

Cavan will prepare for a tricky tie in England while Antrim and Down must wait to discover who they will play.

The last Ulster SFC quarter-final takes place on Sunday with Armagh and Donegal having the consolation of being at home in the qualifiers should they taste defeat at the Athletic Grounds.
