All-Ireland SFC qualifiers: Meyler and McKenna out for Tyrone
- Published
Recent call-up Conor Meyler and Niall McKenna have been ruled out of Tyrone's All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Limerick on Sunday.
Meyler has a hamstring injury while McKenna is also suffering from a knock.
Meyler and Lee Brennan were promoted to the squad after helping Tyrone win this year's All-Ireland U21 title.
Two other members of the victorious U21 squad, Cathal McShane and Rory Brennan, started in last month's Ulster Championship defeat by Donegal.
Meanwhile, Armagh will be without Kevin Dyas and Mark Shields for Saturday's Football qualifier against Wicklow at the Athletics Grounds.
Dyas is continuing to be bothered by a knee injury which restricted his involvement in the Ulster SFC defeat by Donegal to a substitute's role.
Shields missed that game entirely because of finger injuries and will also be unavailable.
Ciaran McKeever, Aaron Findon and Stephen Harold have been carrying knocks but all three are expected to be in contention to play at the weekend.
Harold came on as a substitute for black-carded Findon late in the Donegal defeat.
After that comparative hammering by Donegal, Armagh are unlikely to make the mistake of underestimating Wicklow despite the Garden County's Division 4 status.
Johnny Magee's side ran Meath close in the recent Leinster quarter-final before losing out 2-19 to 3-12.
As it stands, Down will be without suspended Conall McGovern for their qualifier against Wexford on Sunday.
McGovern was controversially red carded against Derry and an initial appeal to the GAA's Central Hearings Committee has been rejected.
Down are intending to launch a further plea to the Central Hearings Committee and the issue could go all the way to the Disputes Resolution Authority.
The Mourne County could do with having McGovern available as key forward Donal O'Hare, Aidan Carr and Gerard Collins are injuries doubts for the game.
Free-taker O'Hare has a calf injury with Collins troubled by a shoulder injury and Carr suffering from an ankle problem.
