Fermanagh earned a stunning comeback win over Roscommon at Brewster Park

Fermanagh pulled off a remarkable stoppage-time 1-14 to 0-16 victory over Roscommon in the All-Ireland qualifiers at Brewster Park on Sunday.

Pete McGrath's men seemed to be heading out of the Championship but they scored the last six points of the game to progress to the fourth round.

Roscommon were 0-14 to 0-8 up when Fermanagh's hopes were boosted by a Sean Quigley penalty.

The hosts fell eight points behind but then staged that dramatic revival.

Mickey Jones, Tomas Corrigan (2), Damien Kelly and a Quigley free saw Fermanagh draw level deep into stoppage-time.

Then Quigley scored the winner right at the end to complete the unlikely comeback which leaves the Erne county just one match away from the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

While Fermanagh were celebrating, Roscommon must have been wondering what had hit them in the closing stages.

In the first half Donal Shine landed four points and Cathal Cregg sent over three glorious scores as the visitors established a 0-9 to 0-4 interval advantage.

With Ruairi Corrigan on, Fermanagh looked brighter and reduced the gap by a couple of points.

But three frees by Ciara Murtagh and Cregg's fourth point of the afternoon saw Roscommon remain in command.

The penalty revived Fermanagh and proved to the be spark for their remarkable match-winning surge.
