Football League Div Four: Antrim edge closer to promotion by beating Waterford
- Published
Antrim maintained their 100% record in Division Four of the Football League as Tomas McCann's seven points helped them earn a 1-16 to 0-6 win over Waterford.
The Saffrons are still not guaranteed promotion with Louth and Wexford two points behind with two games remaining.
Antrim bossed the Corrigan Park contest as Matthew Fitzpatrick's goal helped them lead 1-6 to 0-3 at half-time.
Sub Brian Neeson hit three second-half points but a blow for the Saffrons was an injury suffered by Kevin Niblock.
The St Gall's man was stretchered off in the 50th minute and Antrim joint-manager Gearoid Adams said after the game that the injury appeared to be in the pelvic/hip area.
Sean McVeigh also suffered a shoulder injury and both players could be doubts for the game against Wicklow on Easter Sunday.
Dermot McAleese, Paddy McBride, Ryan Murray and John Carron also notched scores for Antrim.
Antrim will face Louth in their final game at Corrigan Park on 3 April.
