Michael Hoey secures Madeira Open victory after a 71

Michael Hoey won his second European Tour event with victory in the Madeira Open on Sunday.

The Belfast player fired a one-under-par 71 to finish on 10 under and two shots clear of Chris Gane and Jamie Elson.

Hoey, who won the Estoril Portuguese Open in 2009, posted birdies at eight and 14 with his only dropped shot coming at 13.

Colm Moriarty (70) finished five under with Simon Thornton (73) one under.
