Northern Ireland pair Gareth Maybin and Michael Hoey failed to make the halfway cut at the Avantha Masters in India.

Ballyclare player Maybin was just one shot shy of the cut mark after a one-under-par 71 left him two under at the Jaypee Greens Club in Delhi.

Hoey carded a double-bogey at the 11th as the Belfast man ended on one over after a 73.

Peter Lawrie (69) also missed the cut on two under while Chapchai Nirat and Wenchong Liang lead on 12 under.

Maybin was on course to make the weekend action but he missed out after dropping shots at two of the last three holes.

Hoey also posted five birdies and four bogeys in his second round in Delhi.
