Gareth Maybin finds form in final round at Spanish Open

Gareth Maybin finished joint 16th in the Spanish Open after an impressive five-under par 67 in the final round.

The Ballyclare player, who had a disppointing 75 on Saturday, carded six birdies and a bogey in Valencia to end the tournament on one under.

Peter Lawrie (70) was also one under with David Higgins (76) four over and Shane Lowry (78) eight over.

France's Raphael Jacquelin beat Max Kieffer and Felipe Aguilar in a play-off after the trio ended five under.

Belfast's Michael Hoey missed the cut along with Mourne amateur Reeve Whitson.
