Rory McIlroy posts third round 73 at Players Championship

Rory McIlroy lies six shots behind the leaders after posting a third round of one-over-par 73 at the Players Championship at Sawgrass.

McIlroy carded two birdies and three bogeys on Saturday and is tied for 18th place on five under.

Padraig Harrington is three over following a 75 while Graeme McDowell missed the halfway cut by two strokes.

Swede David Lingmerth, Spaniard Sergio Garcia and world number one Tiger Woods are tied for the lead on 11 under.

A delay caused by lightning meant that a number of players were unable to complete their third round on Saturday.

McIlroy was well in contention near the top of the leaderboard in Florida after a first round of 66, but followed that up with a level-par 72 in his second round.
