Tiger Woods remains in last place at the Hero World Challenge in Florida despite fighting off illness to shoot a three-under-par 69 in the third round.
The former world number one, 38, vomited on the third fairway but lifted his total score to an even-par 216.
Fellow American Jordan Spieth holds the lead on 20 under and is on the brink of winning his second title of the year.
Tied for second place on 13-under are compatriot Keegan Bradley (65) and Henrik Stenson of Sweden (68).
Australian Open winner Spieth, 21, made three birdies in a row to start the day and crowned a brilliant round by sinking a 50-footer at the last for his ninth birdie to card a nine-under 63 at Isleworth.
Woods, who had back surgery and is playing his first competitive tournament since missing the cut at the US PGA Championship in August, has steadily improved since his five-over in the opening round and finished Saturday's round with three successive birdies.
The 14-time major winner said: "It wasn't easy and I fought hard. That's about all I had."
Woods missed Friday night's benefit gala at the elite 18-player tournament with a fever, and after making his tee time for the third round coughed up into a towel following his opening shot.
England's Justin Rose followed up his second round 64 with a two-under 70 to drop to fifth in the standings, while Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell carded a 68 to go seven-under for the tournament.
